I love green tea but it does have a bitter kick. I used apple juice, the honey and then added 1/4 c. sugar. That smoothed out some of the bitterness but left a little "wang" which we all liked. A hit at our Memorial Day shrimp boil. Thanks Sue L.

In the summer time we drink GALLONS of sun tea and I'm always looking for ways to change things up. This recipe was a very welcome change. I followed the instructions to the letter and found this to be very light and refreshing, so much so that I am now in the process of making a whole gallon! I did not add the honey or any sugar as I'm not all that fond of sweet tea. For those who had problems with their tea being bitter, I suggest experimenting with steeping times. As with black tea, green tea is not all the same. Different brands contain varying degrees of tannins (the bitter stuff). I have found that Trader Joe's makes a nice brand of green tea and that the perfect amount of steeping time is about 4 minutes (for my tastes that is). With any other brand I let my bags steep no more that three minutes before tasting. JMO Anyhoo, as usual, Sue- your recipes sing to me. Thanks much!

This was pretty good. I have never had green tea and did not realize it was so bitter. I added 1/4 cup sugar to sweeten it to taste. The apple cider is a nice addition. Thanks!

I thought this was okay- it mostly tasted like watered down funny-tasting apple juice to me. BF, however, loves it. It is refreshing, but that watered-down apple juice flavor bugs me. I didn't find it bitter, but I don't know how well I think green tea goes with apple juice. I made it with Trader Joe's green tea like BothFex. I didn't add any honey or sugar, since BF likes it so much as is. I might like it better with some sugar, which I may try if he doesn't drink it all first. So, 5 stars from BF, 3 from me- averages out to 4 stars. Not bad- definitely a unique tea.

This tea was bitter and needed the addition of sugar. I used apple juice, honey, ice cubes, green tea and boiling water and followed all the steps to the point. I even tried this recipe using orange juice, but again, I didn't like it all that much. The only thing I liked about this tea is that it was really "light".

Yup. Simple and refreshing. I don't know what more to say. I had this ice-cold and loved it.
