Always tastes good. The sugar is needed so that you can actually taste the vanilla.

This was really yummy. My almost 3 year old and I made it together and it was a great easy math lesson as she counted the ice cubes! I used a frozen banana and splenda (just 1/2 tbsp. which I thought was plenty) and it was really good. I don't usually let my smoothies blend for very long but I liked the texture the full 1 minute blending gives it. Definitely 1 I will make repeatedly.

Excellent health shake! First of all, I'd recommend doubling the recipe! I also added about 8 fresh strawberries to the mix... and a bit more sugar. These disappeared way too quickly. Thanks, Andrew for posting my new favorite smoothie recipe!

It's an awesome recipe, however, I don't see the use of "sugar" as being in any way shape or form, healthy. Why not buy the drink in bottle at the supermarket when its been processed and mixed up with sugar? If you were to add a bit of fresh apple juice to this, that would give an awesome sweetness but without all of the unhealthy side affects.
