Titanium Chef, thank you, thank you!! I mixed up your recipe, and washed my yorkshire Terrier,oh my goodness she smells so good.Pebbles has a very "bad" body odor~~ I have tryed (I think)every shampoo on the market, plus using my own shampoo! She is very greasy as well.I would bath her,and the next day,it was like she had never been bathed. One other thing,I always had to comb and brush her before her bath.Well I tested your "Sham-pooch"and bathed her first, and it was so easy to comb all the tangles out. I really can't thank you enough for posting this recipe.I would give you 100* if I could.

i must admit if i'm in a rush i'll buy a cheap shampoo for the dog but adding the vinegar really does help get rid of the "doggy" odor!!!thanks for posting.

I mix all ingredients in a bottle with a pour spout for easier application. I like to use Castille soap instead of Ivory, because it cleanses deeper. My dogs get really muddy. I also like to add a few shakes of baking soda to their fur and mix it with the soap. Do not add it to the bottle or it will foam over

Great concoction! I bathe my Brussels Griffon once a week, so this will save $$$ plus he smells wonderful. The 'shampooch' is a bit thin, so the squeeze bottle is an excellent tip. A little goes a long way though. Thank you!

This is the BEST shampoo I have ever used on my dogs. It must be the glycerine that makes the difference. I have two dogs, a Lab mix and she sheds alot, the shampoo seemed to help release the trapped fur so it rinsed out and the rest combed out easily. My other dog is a sheltie/pom mix, and her undercoat is very dense and prone to tangles. It is a pain to comb out esprcially after a bath. Not this time, while still a job to groom her, the tangles combed out easily. Both look, smell and feel so good to touch. Thank you so much for posting this recipe. I will never again buy pet shampoo.

So far so good. DH is bathing our second dog right now. My male chi that had the first bath seems ok so far. He is curled up under his blankie now. He usually comes out still scratching after a bath, but not this time. He seems really relaxed and is just snoozing away right now. This made a lot of shampoo. I have it stored in a large 2 litter bottle and some in the dish soap bottle. I did however add a little tee tree oil to the soap bottle mix because DH hated the vinegar smell. We will see if that made any difference. If not then we will bathe them again with the one without the tee tree oil. I will update again to see how they are the rest of the day. Hopefully this is a keeper and it can save us money. Now the big test will be on DH's police K9. If it can get her clean and smelling good then I would kiss the ground you walk on. LOL! ***UPDATE*** This has worked miracles on DH's K9 work dog. Her coat has been so soft and shiny. DH says people at work think he bathes her everyday with some expensive shampoo. Little do they know its been awhile since she was bathed.

I can't stop hugging my dog! (he doesn't mind) Woody feels sooooo soft after using this shampoo. I've used many shampoos also, and this one is the only one I'll ever use on my dog. Thankyou so much for posting this! It is a little thin so if you can store it in a squeeze bottle, like the one the dish soap comes in, it's easier to apply to your dog.

Once I got the glycerin, this was easy to make and makes my dog soft and good smelling. It makes a lot. I've used my first batch many times and have a lot left.

My little dog has gotten some kind of skin irritation and I've had her to the vet twice, they can't seem to figure out what's going on. I get medicine for her but she's back to scratching, seems like constantly. Anyway I finally got the stuff to make this shampoo. Used yesterday and so far seems like it's doing the trick. Thanks, I will keep using this for her.
