2 Reviews of Sarah's Vegan Oatmeal Amazingness Cookies

From: OceanLuvinGranny

This might be a good recipe. But, to call it "vegan" when it has egg in it, doesn't make any sense because true vegans don't use eggs. Of cou5rse, they could read the recipe and use flax seed for the egg or use an egg substitute. It did bother me though that it was called 'vegan" and still had an egg in the ingredients list.

Egg replacers are often made with parts of the egg, so true vegans might not want to even use egg replacers. My suggestion is to use a banana in place of an egg. Works amazingly well in any cookie recipe and you can't even taste "banana" flavor (only just a bit). One banana is worth 2 eggs. So this recipe could use 1/2 banana instead of an egg or egg replacer. I am assuming the applesauce replaces the "fat" (vegan butter) so that is an extra plus. I can't wait to try this recipe (with a banana of course)!
