I used Yukon Gold potatoes for this recipe and followed Silent Cricket's directions from there and omitted the grated cheese. These potatoes are creamy and flavorful and fit for a dinner party. I will be serving these often! Excellent recipe and worthy of 5 stars!

These were "over the top" fabulous! I doubled the recipe for a small dinner party of 15 and there was not a bit left! I also was not sure what type of cheese to top them with, so I used sharp cheddar. These reminded me of twice baked potatoes without the shell
Wonderful presentation and EVERYONE raved over them...thanks for sharing!

I am back to add that these potatoes were just as fresh and delicious tasting after having been in the freezer 4 weeks, thawed and then reheated. And if I could I'd add at least 2 more stars for that convenience! They will definitely be on my holiday table. Gee, I can make potatoes now for both Thanksgiving and Christmas! Way cool! Thanks OzMartha!

Rated Very High for the convenience. Sure Tasty and Creamy and just all around great. I added Chives..Yum Yum..Then I froze some in small portions and added the cheese and some bacon bits. It froze very well and reheat was just as easy. Thank You..Hugs

These potatoes are awesom! I froze some of them and they came out perfetly out of the freezer. I defrosted them, then reheated in the oven. Just perfect for a quick meal!

I found the same recipie some where else, but it is very good. I made mine in an oven safe pot and didn't bother to move it over to a 9x13" pan to cut down on dirty dishes on Thanksgiving day. I was still eating these left overs for a week. So good even microwaved. I didn't add the cheese on top. I might try that next time. They were great used in my sheapherd's pie the next day.

Wonderful! I loved the fact that these could be made ahead of time(I only made them the night before but I plan to make and freeze this recipe in the future.) These really do taste like twice baked potatoes without all the work! My family really dug in and my mom said they were worth 5 stars!! The only thing I changed was that I used 2 green onions instead of the tsp of onion. Thanks for recommending this great time saver recipe!

These were a nice side dish, not difficult, very creamy and rich. Rather than the trouble that some reviewers had of the pototoes being too dry, we had the opposite problem of them not ever quite setting up enough, though they tasted good. A nice change of pace from regular old mashed potatoes.

I was looking for a mashed potatoe recipe for Christmas dinner that was not dry. When it came time to whip they were like glue. Added 1/4 cup milk till moist. Total added 1 1/4 cup. This recipe has many reviews & no one mentioned dryness. I followed the recipe to the letter. The recipe turned out moist & I will make them again. Thanks for the recipe SilentCricket.
