Take it from someone who lives in "Cajun Country", this is GREAT!! Ours was spicy, but I think it was the sausage I used. Maybe that and the way I "eyeballed" the red pepper flakes!! But, the recipe itself is PERFECT.I also added chicken. (NOT in my pic) And I LOVE the fact that it cooks in the crockpot!Thanks! Made for ZWT5.

There is a recipe in Taste of Home's Simply Delicious w/ the exact ingredients but cooking instructions are different. I've never eaten gumbo so can't compare it to anything but I thought this was a good simple dish. My 2 year old gobbled it up. Thanks!
