s'kat, this is my favorite Banana Pudding of all time! I love this recipe and have been making it for years and years. It is relatively simple to prepare and it is so very delicious! Make exactly as the recipe indicates and you can't go wrong! Thanks for posting it, s'kat!

Came here to get the recipe, 'cause I had a box of off-brand vanilla wafers. I absolutely love this stuff! I hadn't had it in a really long time, so I made it for my DH and stepdaughters. I don't think my stepdaughters liked it so much, if you can believe it (thanks to their mom, they don't know what real cooking is!) But it was just as good as I remembered it being, and pretty easy to do. I did make one boo-boo though...forgot to separate my eggs, and ended up using whole eggs in my custard...didn't hurt the recipe though!

Made this a few weeks ago--it was my first attempt at meringue and I was so surprised that it worked! This was delicious. My only regret is that it doesn't keep well so you really need to eat it all in one sitting.

My husband and kids loved this, my only problem was it was a bit runny. (Probably my error) Had to eat it quick, at leas that was my husband's excuse!!

Perfect! This was my first attempt at making real pudding, and I couldn't have been happier. It was not difficult at all! Also, It seemed like a lot of bananas at the beginning, but don't be shy, the end result is perfect! This is the only recipe I'll use when I want real, traditional banana pudding!

This is what banana pudding should be, and is the recipe I grew up with. I made it for Christmas dinner yesterday, but topped it with homemade whipped cream rather than meringue - - my husband isn't a meringue person. My improvised double boiler proved potentially hazardous (ha!), so I cooked the custard over low heat on the stove, and simply removed it from the heat if it seemed to get too hot. It took longer, but the custard turned out perfect.

OOhh...I made this today for the first time! I didn't have a double-boiler so I used nested saucepans which worked perfectly! I also through in some chocolate chips I had laying around....YUM!!

My mother always made this pudding and one of my sons always asked for it as his birthday cake. No other recipe can compare. I lost my mom's recipe and am happy to have found it here.
