All five of us LOVED this cake! It is sweet, but not too sweet...fruity, but not too fruity...rich, but not too rich. My husband who has never given ANY recipe more than 4 stars gave this a 5!! I didn't know how many strawberries to crush, but found that one quart was about 1 cup too much (though we will use the leftover today to make extra glaze for the remaining cake as we didn't have quite enough glaze for the second cake round). I made the glaze drippy enough that it could just barely be drizzled & then drizzled over each individual piece of cake just before serving. It made it look very "chef'y" :o. And, we liked this served warm best. Oh, also I didn't have cake flour & used the 2 1/4 cups flour less 2 Tbsp which I substituted corn starch for. It came out perfect!

This is the BEST strawberry cake recipe! Everyone loved it! I increased powdered sugar in glaze to a more frosting consistency--delicious!

I made this for my brother's birthday, as he is such the strawberry fan. He loved it. My other brother said it was the best dessert he had ever eaten-this was after his third helping. I baked in a 9"x13" pan. After baking, I poked holes in the cake and poured the glaze over it. I then covered it with Kittencal's Stabilized Whipped Cream. It was very good. Thanks for posting.

50 stars! This def deserves that!! It is a wonderful cake. Although this does not have any milk in it, it had a very creamy milky taste to it. It is wonderful. I used 3/4 cup of mashed strawberries for the cake, and another 3/4 cup for the glaze. It is to die for. I was actually looking for a recipe to use up strawberries, cos a good friend gave me a couple of boxes, but from now onwards, i will just buy some just to have an excuse to make this again!! Try it...!!!

This was a good cake. Mine turned out kind of dry. I probably overcooked it a bit. I added more powdered sugar for icing instead of glaze. Don't add too much crushed strawberries to icing. It makes it very watery. I served it with fresh strawberries on the side. It was yummy!

EXCELLENT CAKE. Didn't have to change a thing. My fiance and his buddy are downstairs devouring it right now. My mom makes this but I could never find the recipe online (I lost the copy she gave me!) I am so glad to have this. (I did use frozen strawberries, by the way. I used my judgment with the frosting.) Thanks for posting!

Simply delicous! I made 6 small loaves instead of one cake, and gave them away as gifts with a chocolate-dipped strawberry on top. They were a huge hit and wonderful! The fresh strawberry taste really comes through!

YUM!. Made this and took it into work, everyone loved it. Will be making this cake regularly while strawberries are in season. Didn't need to change anything in this recipe. This is as good as the strawberry muffin recipe from this site.

The perfect summer cake! It really has a wonderful light strawberry flavor, and the simplicity of the glaze just adds to the pure strawberry flavor of the cake. Thanks for a delicious recipe, Kim!

Now this is some cake. My Mee-Maw used to make this. I am very happy to have found the recipe. I made this for Labor Day and it was such a hit. The fresh berries make this out of this world. Very rich and sweet. The cake was also nice and moist. Thanks for posting.
