A very impressive dessert! We were invited out for Saturday lunch and it was my job to bring dessert. Thanks to this cake I know have an open invitation back anytime I want, I just have to make this each time! Adding the grated zest of the orange should be mandatory, not optional, it adds a wonderful flavor to the chocolate!

Very nice rich dessert style cake. I have now made this twice, once with orange zest and once with zest from mandarins as I had no orange.I needed this to be extra special so I filled the cavity with chocolateand coffee mousse and then drizzled chocolate ganache over the top and decorated with angelica and mandarin segments. It looked and tasted fantastic Xang

The best chocolate, combined with this recipe creates a delicious, cake. If not overbaked, it has a chewy effect. The taste reminds me of Belgian truffles. I suggest you keep it in the fridge for a day.

I can't believe I haven't rated this recipe until now (considering I have made it a gazillion times!!). Wonderfully easy recipe and ALWAYS a hit. Have kept it simple with just whipped cream in the middle (which my dh thinks is the best way) and have dressed it up with mousse. Either way has been amazing. Definitely a keeper.

Extremely tasty dessert - got rave reviews from our guests! One of my friends even said it was better than a similar favorite dessert a local upscale restaurant! Probably would have been even better if I had the orange zest or the Grand Marnier! I plan to add those ingredients the next time I make this. Also, the recipe called for "best-quality" chocolate, and I simply used Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chunks. Turned out perfectly fine! Try this dessert. You won't be disappointed!!

Totally decadent - soo delicious and has a great, truffle-like texture. I changed the recipe a tiny bit as I forgot to buy eggs and only had 5 - I used one whole and 4 separated. Baked for 30 minutes and whipped up 1 cup of cream to top the cake with. Mmmm... My brother, who is usually not a dessert lover at all, scarfed up half of this cake in a few hours and went home with the recipe! The rest of us (me, DH + brother's girlfriend) loved the cake as much as he did, but didn't move quickly enough, so were only left with the other half to share.
A great dessert, will definitely make again! Thank you Ginny!

This is an amazing cake. Looks beautiful and tastes amazing. A light cake that is the perfect ending to a heavy meal. I used the Grand Mariner, and loved the subtle orange flavor. Perfect!

Every time I make this it does not last long! I make it without the Grand Marnier and orange and it comes out perfect every time. Very easy and very impresive!
