I did do my own date chopping & used the Medjool variety! Also used some brown sugar that I put together myself (I've been going nuts with that kind of thing lately!) & have to admit that these are some of the best tasting date cookies I've ever had! Definitely a keeper of a recipe, & I'll have these on my counter a lot during the up-coming winter holidays! [Made & reviewed for one of my adopted orphans in the current Pick A Chef]
