108 Reviews of Better Than Sex Cake IIi

From: yooper

On Sep 5, 2002

I sure can vouch for this one. I've made this at least a dozen times in the past two years and have always recieved many compliments! This was known to me as the "better than sex" cake, and most people blushingly agree when they taste it that it's title lives up to it's name!

This cake was absolutely rich and decadent!! I used a fudge cake mix, caramel butterscotch ice cream topping and extra creamy whipped topping and it turned out marvelous! My brother in law who doesn't eat many sweets, especially chocolate, gave me a container and told me to "put as much as you can in it" for him to take home! Everyone adored this cake.

I made this for my husband's Thanksgiving pot luck dinner at work. Everyone HAD to know who brought it and how they could get the recipe. I had people calling me at home asking for this recipe. I make it lot for cook outs and the neighbor boy would rather eat it than dinner....lol so it is for sure a keeper. ThX for the awesome recipeOH I add chopper pecans between the carmel and cool whip topping. Turtles have nuts...lol

I have made this cake many times and it is always a hit. Try replacing the dark chocolate cake mix with German Chocolate cake mix for a less chocolate cake. It is good also.

I had totally forgotten about how I loved this cake until someone brought it to work for potluck last week. I just had to make one for home. I dont refrigerate though after the milk, I immediatley pour the caramel over while it is still warm, then cool to room temp, frost with cool whip and then refrigerate. Awesome cake....!

I made this for our church lunch, and it was the most popular dessert there. People were even swiping the dish to clean out the last bits. When I made it I used about 5 oz. of caramel topping and 5 oz. of chocolate syrup. I found it helpful to let each liquid soak in for 15 minutes before putting the next one in. By the way, I made this a second time using french vanilla Cool Whip, and I'll never do that again. It made the dessert too sweet.

De-li-cious!!!! I loved it and it was sooo easy. I brought it to a family cook out and it was the first thing to go. My Dad, who isn't a huge sweets person, had 3 pieces! Him and my husband keep talking about it too so I'll definitely make this one again. It's a keeper! Thanks Paul!
