These were tasty, but greasy. I also can not see how in the world you could use 2 lbs of ham on these? One pound piled them high! I'm sorry that I had bought $12.00 worth of ham, that I did not need.

I make these often. The recipe I use is half this quantity. Just divide all ingredients in half for smaller families. These are wonderful for a light meal, or for parties and to take to carry-ins--everyone loves them.

I make a similar version but had to guess for the recipe and I think your recipe is the real deal. These are awesome! Made them for a baby shower and they were a huge hit, a friend went home and made them for her Thanksgiving dinner she loved them soo much. Thanks for sharing!

Hubby & kids loved. I liked the flavor, but I didn't care for the butter making them greasy feeling as you were eating it. The bread soaks up the butter making it crunchy but very greasy.

A girlfriend made these for lunch one day and all 10 of us thought they were a hit! It was funny b/c she's dim in the kitchen, but she sure pulled this one off! Way to go Kate!

My friend is required to make these for every potluck get together our group of friends have. They are AMAZING! There are many similar recipes on here but none of them use the Kings Hawaiian Rolls which is what makes this recipe so delicious and unique. Thanks for posting!

Very delicious and versatile recipe. Everyone in my house loved these little morsels. I did change it up a bit by using turkey, no onions and no poppy seeds. Also, I could not wait to let them refrigerate overnight, but they were still EXCELLENT! These are easy and fabulous and will be a regular on our weeknight dinner menu!

What a pleasant surprise! I was sorta skeptical about this recipe at first but these were just great! I too didnt wait to refrigerate them overnite but I'll try to remember to do them ahead the next time I make them. I didnt have the Virginia ham so I used what I had which was, Boar's Head Sweet Slice Ham for half of them & Boar's Head Maple Turkey Breast for the rest! They were a real hit with everyone today at lunch and we'll make these many times again! Thanks for sharing.

These were very sweet. If I made them again, I would use traditional rolls instead of hawaiian,' and maybe a pickled jalapeno slice on each one. I'm sure it's just my own preference though.
