What a heavenly cookie. Since this is Christmas I splurged and followed the recipe with no subs! They are light, tender and, believe it or not, flaky! I left the pecans halves whole but some Broke while I was working the dough. The single recipe comment that I have is that even though I followed the recipe to a T my dough wasn't even damp and I had to knead in the chips and nuts. Even so I couldn't incorporate them all and with the dough being on the dry side the cookies tended to crumble and break in slicing. I will certainly make this wonderful cookie again and if it is the same next time I'll add another egg white to moisten it a bit more. I had a delightful snack of biscotti and milk this afternoon and felt 8 yrs old again. What higher tribute can you give a cookie? :D. Made for Santa's Secret in Photo Tag.

I did a few changes and they turned out great. I love the butterscotch flavor. I omitted the butter and used unsweetenend applesauce. I used splenda and splenda brown sugar. I didn't do the glaze to reduce calories and also we like our cookies, biscottis without glaze. Thanks Toni. Made for Holiday tag
