Using the chocolate graham crackers is a great variation as that is what I always use. You can also add vanilla chips with the chocolate chips or even sub a nutty type cereal for the top layer instead of nuts. (I have done both with success)

These are a traditional item in our house at Christmas time .I add about a teaspoon of cinnamon to the graham cracker mixture and instead of nuts, I will adda bit more choclate chipits and coconut or use butterscotch chipits . These are foolproof to make .

I took these to a Christmas gathering, and they were very well-received! With no bowl or mixing, they were a snap to prepare, and they were really tasty and sweet! I used chocolate graham cracker crumbs to intensify the flavor of the chocolate chips, and I baked the bars for 25 minutes. (I think about 22 minutes would have been sufficient, at least in my oven). After they cooled, I cut them into small squares, and arranged them in a large, shallow dish. Hint: be sure to spread melted butter around the sides of the pan, as the bars are hard to loosen from edges otherwise.

I make these on a regular basis too...but we call them a more boring "7-layer bars"...using a 1/2 cup of butterscotch chips. For a milder version I like to use Vanilla wafers instead of Graham crackers. Very yummy and easy too!

Somebody had made these at my bridal shower and I did not know what they were called. My mother in laws friend made them this weekend for Thanksgiving and I heard them say hello dollies. I checked for them took your recipe and have basically eaten the whole pan by myself. They are excellent, I will be making these over and over again. Thanks for posting.

These are excellent and always fun to make and taste yummy. Also known as Magic Cookie Bars, and if you add a layer of butterscotch chips they are called Seven Layer Bars.

I was having some wild sweet/chocolate cravings, and so I wanted a recipe that could be ready FAST without a trip to the store. This was it! I had an open box of chocolate graham crackers, so I used those for at least half the crumbs. I baked this in a glass pan, and so I melted the butter right in there, in the microwave - the only thing I dirtied making these is one measuring cup. The sweetened condensed milk becomes like caramel when it is baked - yummy! My DH was mad because I gave some away, so I will have to make more soon. Thank you!

LOVE THESE!! My Mam-Maw made these for Christmas. My DH never had them before and in restoring some traditions I made them this past holiday. I use pecans (like a good Texan) and use about 6 Tbls of butter. Yum Yum and Super Easy. You can't go wrong.
