These are heavenly good. I made the dough and sent it off to be cooked by 4 teenagers, a rather risky endeavour at the best of times. They succeeded wildly and saved 1 (oh, joy - 1!) for me to sample. It was really scrumptious. This recipe obviously has been very carefully worked out, and I changed nothing, nor felt it needed any changing. It's perfect.

I don't even remember what the original Doubletree Chocolate Chip Cookies taste like because it's been so long since I've had one. What I do know is that when I made these cookies last night and sampled one they were absolutely heavenly! I love the buttery flavor of the cookie and the hint of cinnamon. These cookies hit the spot for my sweet tooth (teeth). My husband and I both enjoyed them thoroughly. Thanks for posting!

This is a great recipe, but if you want to get the " all over chocolate feeling" freeze the chips and pulse them a couple times in a food blender.

I really loved these cookies, as did everyone else. The reason for the 4 stars is because they don't really taste like Doubletree's cookies. I actually had saved one from a trip we made there yesterday to compare. The Doubletree cookies have a stronger cinnamon taste, and the lemon flavor is different. I used fresh-squeezed, but I'm thinking that maybe they use lemon extract or the lemon juice from a bottle. I think there may have been too many chocolate chips and nuts in these also, as they seemed to overpower the flavors that are distinct to the ones from Doubletree. I will definitely make these again, but I will be tooling around with the cinnamon and lemon so that they taste more like the real thing next time. A great cookie recipe in and of itself though! Thanks!

Absolutely the best! The last time I made these I used lime juice instead of lemon- and they turned out perfect! I use a large ice cream scoop size to make extra large cookies (for a bake sale!) I've also tried leaving in the fridge overnight (as called for by a similar Doubletree recipe) and that way makes the cookies even better! Simply the best!

I was looking for some cookie recipes that made a lot of cookies, and this fit the bill. I didn't use 1/4 Cup per cookie though, my usual spoonfull. The cookies are crispy and chewy at the same time, very buttery, and I love the touch of cinnamon. thank you for this recipe.

Very good cookies, s'kat! Very easy recipe to follow. Very buttery with a nice distribution of chocolate chips to nuts. I think however on my next batch, I will increase the brown sugar by 1/4 cup. I like my cookies a little on the sweet side
Thanks for sharing, s'kat!

Help! I really wanted to make these and even got a cookie from the Doubletree to compare it to. I followed the directions exactly (which I rarely do) and I got a very cake-like cookie. The only thing that I can see is that I only got about 2 dozen cookies out of the recipe. Could the larger cookies have impacted the texter?

I remember a car trip we took as kids to a Doubletree in New Orleans... waaaaaaay back in the 80's... and these cookies brought back so mnay memories. It has been a long time since I have eaten the real thing, but these really seem close. I made them just as directed, except I refrigerate the dough overnight before baking. I think it really helps the flavors marry and it really replicates the original cookies in texture and appearance. I love the chewy texture and the slight hint of cinnamon... We love these as a treat!!! Thanks!
