This dip was a BIG HIT at the family get-together that I served it at. Everyone loved it and the whole bowl was gone in no time. I bought both ruffled potatoe chips and Ranch Doritos to serve with with it, and they both tasted great, but I think the potatoe chips tasted the best with it. I was concerned that it might be a bit too salty, as one reviewer mentioned, so I used only half the Bacon Bits. I used the entire packet of Ranch Dressing, and it turned out great, but I may try it with only half the packet next time, since the chips have a great deal of salt, as well. It was so fast and easy to put together, and tasted fabulous - this dip may just be my new potluck /party staple!

I have made this recipe several times, and always get great reviews. No one complains about too much salt. The only difference is that I always use real fried bacon in the recipe. I usually add more than the 1/4 cup, but it never seems overly salty, when the bacon is fried and crumpled, and not out of a bottle or pouch.

Easy and delicious dip. We loved the bacon bits and cheese in the dip. It will be a keeper for my next party we have. Thanks for sharing this delicious dip.

This has been a hit the two times I have made it. I was afraid it would be too salty so did not use all the bacon bits but pretty close to it. Served with celery, carrots, and crackers. Have already passed this one along.

This was very good! However, when I made it as written, we thought the bacon was a bit overpowering, so I used 2 containers of sour cream/2 packets of dip mix. Made it a bit creamier, which is just how we like our dips!! Thanks; I'm sure we'll use this recipe often!

This was very easy to make and I think I could enjoy it a whole lot more if it didn't taste so saltly. Just a warning for those who don't use much salt. I will make it again but try with half the ranch mix and half the bacon.

This was pretty good. I cooked bacon for it. I do not like bacon bits. I would make it again.

Loved this easy tasty dip, I halved the sour cream amount (used lite as well) and also halved the ranch dressing (had half a packet leftover from another recipe)and cheese.

I needed something I could prepare quickly to take to a St. Paddy's Party and this fit the bill. I didn't have bacon bits so I threw in some roasted red peppers and some green chilies for the party theme. I also used the four cheese mexican mix. Simple, quick and tasty. Thanks for sharing your recipe Fluffy!

This was delish. I made it with lowfat sour cream and lowfat cheese. Everyone liked it on Thanksgiving!
