3 Reviews of It's Raining Cat and Dog Balls! (Treats)

Sandi, This recipe gets an 8 paws up from the "kids". Rascal, the pound puppy, was actually pawing at the oven as these baked. BeeGee,the once feral cat, being the queen, just sat patiently waiting until I served her...she had seconds. I made them into 3/4 inch balls and they were perfectly done in 10 minutes. I turned them half way through. I did add a splash of fat-free evaporated milk to make them easier to form, as I used very lean beef. My furbabies send big kisses your way.

I used chicken instead of beef thinking that my 3 furry brats would like chicken more than beef. At first they didn't know what to think of these treats but eventually they came around and ate them and trust me they wouldn't have eaten them if they didn't like them, even if they hadn't eaten in days... they are very picky eaters. Because I used chicken instead of beef the mixture was a little drier and harder to form into balls but I stuck with it and because of the drier mixture they got a little crispy in the oven which I think my cats liked since it is more like the cat food they are use to. I tried a bite and it tastes like cat food... ahem or at least what I imagine cat food to taste like. Thanks for the recipe.

This is an easy and quick recipe. My dog, Ty, loved them; he too is a picky eater. Next time I will make them smaller since he is only 35 pounds. I guess I made them into 1 inch balls which he could eat but smaller treats wouldn't require him to break them up on my floor. Ty says thank you.
