This is the best whole wheat bread ever! I was a bit leary on the molasses for fear it may be strong like a Boston Brown Bread but no such thing. It was wonderful. After our discussion however on electric ovens and bread browning too quickly I tried cooking the loaves separately. I brushed the tops with lots of butter and at 375 I had trouble, finally by the last 2 loaves I had it mastered. My oven cooked it perfectly on 300 degrees for 45 minutes. I have no way to control just the bottom element.

My daughter baked this bread for our county fair this year and won reserve champion yeast bread! Our whole family LOVES this recipe! We combined the dry ingredients before we mixed it with the wet as to not overwork it. The bread rises beautifully and we brought home a nice big ribbon from the fair!

I cut the receipe in 1/4 and made in the bread machine. This bread has the right amount of sweetness for us. I didn't think that it toasted very well but there really not that much left over to toast.

I made a half batch with all whole wheat flour and omitted the white flour. YUMMY!!! This will now be the staple bread in our kitchen. I feel so bloated right now from eating almost half a loaf all by myself. :D Just working on my daily grain intake. Thanks for sharing.

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW!!! This was fabulous!!! I cut the recipe in half, and since I only have one loaf pan, I baked the other one on a cookie sheet. So I have one regular loaf and one baguette. I drizzled melted butter before I baked them, and put sesame seeds on the baguette. We could barely keep ourselves from gobbling it all up right away! YUM! Thanks Karen for a wonderful wheat bread recipe!

This was really easy and really good. I agree that 375 is a bit high. I turned mine down to 350 at about 20 minutes. and cooked for a total of 30 minutes. thank you for sharing it.

I just started making bread and found this easy to do (I have a stand mixer). The taste is wonderful. The frozen loaves thawed well. Be sure to cook this long enough. I baked at 325 for 40 mniutes and I think I could have gone a bit longer as the bread was very soft. I will definitely make this again!

This is wonderful!! I have tried many recipes for bread and this has a great flavor with just a touch of molasses and honey. I have made this twice now with fab. results both times. I halved the recipe the first time and made two loaves just to try it out. Then I made the whole recipe and took two loaves to church sliced and still warm. It got rave reviews there too! I also added 1 T. gluten per cup of wheat flour in this recipe for that extra fluffiness. Thank you, I will alternate between this and my Whole Wheat Honey Whole Wheat Bread-Abm or Traditional as our daily bread.

This was my first attempt to make homemade bread and it turned out perfect! It's an extremely easy recipe to make for a beginner. The flavour was good too.

This bread was delicious!! I only made one loaf, and substituted more honey for the molasses (I was out), and it was so good. My kids loved it and I felt great about them eating it. I can't wait to make it again!
