32 Reviews of Layered Fruit Salad

From: Sunflower

On Jul 26, 2002

I made this for a church women's group function. I doubled the recipe and layered the fruit in a large trifle bowl. It looked so beautiful. The citrus-y dressing was just delicious and the touch of cinnamon was extra special. This recipe is stunning in looks and delicious in taste. Thanks

Very refreshing fruit salad. The sauce accents the flavor of the fruit instead of dominating it which is a nice change from many of the creamier fruit salads. I did omit the grapefruit and used mandarin oranges but I think this salad lends itself to "customization".

Fabulous, NurseDi! I even made a mistake, and forgot to add the brown sugar to the syrup...it was still marvelous. I thought it might be too sour, but it wasn't the sweetness of the fruit more than made up for it. The layers of fruit are so pretty! I served it with spiced whipped cream. We really loved this! Thanks for a great recipe!

I made this salad for Easter. It was very, very pretty and delicious tasting too. The dressing enhanced the flavor of all the fruits. My family liked it and there weren't any left-overs. Very classy. Thank-you, Nurse Di.

Beautiful, delicious and such a healthy option instead of all those whipped-cream fruit salads! Thank you so much for sharing it, Nurse Di.

Wonderful addition to any meal. Beautiful presentation and easy to make. My family loved it. I had "a little" left over and it kept very well over the next couple of days.

We loved it. I made 3 servings, and put them in two glasses, 1.5 servings each. It turned out beautiful. I put them in the fridge overnight. Everything stays pretty except for some thin pieces of banana turned grey. Tips: cut the banana in thick pieces.

I made this for a family reunion. It held up well during a long car ride in a cooler and it was a hit, everyone loved it. I was a little scared while I was cooking the sauce, it is kind of brown but when I poured it over the fruit and everything was fine. The sauce does not over power the fruit but it is not too sweet. It was very refreshing.
