70 Reviews of Old Fashioned Corn and Potato Chowder

I loved how easy this recipe was, and it sure tasted good too! I followed the instructions to the last letter, but since I had scaled down to 1 serving, my potatoes were cooked much faster. The combination of corn, potatoes, and milk is quite something! I had this with 7-Grain bread for a fabulous dinner. Thanks Kari!

I left out the butter and used skim milk, and it still turned out great. My husband really liked it with the cheese on top.

This is superb! Instead of flour mixed with water, I use a Tablespoon or more of dehydrated mashed potato flakes. It works great and keeps the flavor the same in the soup. Perfect if you (or a loved one) are gluten-intolerant.

This is an AWESOME recipe!! I couldn't resist the urge to add celery, so I did and it was great!! I used frozen corn, and served with a little parsley sprinkled over top. This was WELL-recieved by all, and I think next time I will serve it with an optional topping of bacon crumbles Thanks so much for this recipe ~Manda

Great soup for a cold day! I added about 1/2 cup of chopped celery and a couple of shakes of ground red pepper. The soup is very filling and a snap to put together.

This was pretty good. I think I would add a little more flavor next time, like celery or bacon. My husband thought it was great as is and my 4 year old daughter even ate it. Thanks for the recipe!

The first thing my husband said was, darn this is great. Really simple to make. I added a little more pepper. Served it with corn bread. Thank you for posting the Recipe.

This was fantastic! Quick and very easy to prepare - which always makes a recipe a hit in my home! I added a tsp. of chicken boulion powder and some cut-up pieces of farmers sausage! This is a great recipe that I will make again and again! Thanks for posting!

Yummm. This turned out great but I did add a few things because there wasn't as much flavor as I like. I doubled the recipe so I'd have leftover. I used 3 cups of milk & 1 cup of heavy cream, I also added some extra thickener because the chowder was a bit runny. I then added 2 tsp. chicken bouillon, 1tsp poultry seasoning, & 1 tsp. garlic powder. Definately a keeper. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
