Very hearty meal, very satisfying meal! I cooked this on low, for about 7 1/2 hours on low and added the Ditalini pasta for 30 minutes, changed setting to high. Next time I would cook pasta on stove and add it to soup upon serving, because of thickening of broth. But the taste was wonderful! Great recipe and tastes just like the real thing!

Great! This is my husband's favourite at the Olive Garden! I did substitute 1 can crushed tomatoes instead of both cans diced tomatoes and I used v8 vegetable juice instead of the spaghetti sauce. Added cooked pasta just before serving. I served my homemade buns Homemade Buns shaped into breadsticks and brushed them with garlic butter for a real "Olive Garden" Meal!

I thought the taste of this soup was very much like the Olive Garden. FYI the recipe fit in my 4 quart crock pot with a little room to spare. The only suggestion I have is about the addition of the pasta. I added the pasta and cooked on low for about an hour, but keep in mind that once you turn off the crock pot the stoneware stays really hot for quite sometime. This extra heat caused the pasta to get a bit overcooked. So when making this recipe, I would remove the soup from the crockpot once the pasta is cooked to avoid it becoming too soft.

This was amazing! You need a big crockpot for this one (I used a roaster-sized one). It fed more than 6 people. I used 1/2 spicy italian sausage and 1/2 ground beef. Very good!

This was great! I did not have any parsley so I just left that out. I added some minced garlic in the hamburger meat as I browned it. Also, instead of the diced tomatoes I added 1 (28 ounce) can of crushed tomatoes. I also added 2 tbsp of Worchestshire sauce and 2 tsp of chipoltle flavored tabasco sauce. I could not find white kidney beans so I added northern beans instead. Instead of adding 3 tsp of oregano I added half oregano and half italian seasoning and lots of black pepper. For the spaghetti sauce I added one can of Hunts Garlic and Herb Spaghetti sauce. For the pasta I used very small shell pasta. Wonderful, everyone loved it. My husband said it was much better than Olive Garden's. My 13 year old had 3 bowls!

Absolutely fantastic! For vegetarians (or if you just want less fat) substitute Morningstar Farms Grillers Recipe Crumbles, which is just like minced beef. My 7 year old son is very picky. I took some of the soup and put it in the blender (to hide the veggies), and added some alphabet pasta, and he loved it. Either way you serve it, this was a hit and definitely a keeper. Thank you so much!

This is the best! Very easy. You need a 6 quart crockpot to make this recipe.

This was very hearty and tasty. I makes a HUGE amount, though. I have a 5 quart crockpot and it was full to the top. Would make it again.

My daughter loved this and said it deserved a 5 star rating. I made this using 1 28 oz. can of diced tomatoes and a smaller can of rotel type tomatoes. I also forgot to add the parsley. My pasta took a little longer than the 30 minutes to cook, but I did use a large type. Will definitely make this again. Thanks for the recipe.

I have made a few recipes from Recipezaar for me and my wife to date. This is the recipe that made me sign up and leave my very first review. I love the Pasta e Fagioli soup at Olive Garden. This is just as good. My brother-in-law who has never been to Olive Garden happened to be over when I made it and he loved it. I think this recipe is a little more hearty than the Olive Gardens but that's ok with me. I used two pounds of extra lean ground beef. I could not find beef stock so I used beef broth instead. I could not find white kidney beans so I used northern beans. I finally found white kidney beans and beef stock for the next time I make it. Next time I will cook the pasta seperately as other reviews have suggested as they were just to soggy in the crockpot. Still an absolutely superb recipe.
