As far as I am concerned, this is THE definitive stuffed mushroom recipe and I have tried multitudes! I did saute fresh onion and garlic and added 1/3 cup grated swiss cheese to the mixture; then sprinkled grated parmesian on top. I should have doubled the recipe as they were inhaled!! This would make a fabuous stuffing for fish as well.

Very good. I made these for Superbowl Sunday (Go Pats!) with some changes. I doubled the recipe (had 20 shrooms), and used about 1/2 cup finely chopped onion in place of the instant minced onion, and used 2 cloves finely minced garlic in place of the garlic salt. I also brushed the caps with olive oil, and added 1/3 cup grated parmesan to the stuffing mix. They came out wonderfully.

Awesome stuffed mushrooms. Made these for a Halloween party last night and they cleaned the plate! I had medium sized mushrooms and was able to fill about 1 1/2 pounds. I used fresh onion other than the minced just because I didn't have any on hand. I was able to make these up several hours before hand and they held up fine. I did spray the tops lightly with cooking spray before baking. Definitely a keeper. Thanks for posting.

DELICIOUS! I bought a 14oz carton of fresh white "stuffing" mushrooms (about 12 mushrooms); perfectly stuffed them with no leftover mixture. I did brush some olive oil on each cap before baking. I made these as a side to a red sauced chicken/seafood pasta dish; but would also make a great appetizer for a small dinner party; very easy and soooo good!

Simple and flavorful. I did use fresh, finely chopped onion instead of the dried. I liked how the minimal ingredients combined so well for a very tasty appetizer.

WOW!! These were FABULOUS (and so easy)!!! I made them for a party and prepped them ahead of time. I knew they would be the hit of the party before I even cooked them! The recipe is great as is, but I, too, modified it a little by adding the parmesan and after they were cooked, melted slices of provolone cheese on top. YUMMMMM!!! I will definitely be using this one again! Thank you, Colleen!!

Just "another" stuffed mushroom recipe?! Fantastic, best I've ever made! Stuffing made just enough for a 14 oz package large white mushrooms. I did use 2 cloves pressed garlic sauteed with 1/2 large yellow onion until browned (along with chopped mushroom stems), and added a little salt and black pepper to the onion/garlic mix. At another reviewer's suggestion, I mixed 1/3 c freshly grated Swiss into mix, topped with Parmesan, and dusted 1/2 with cayenne pepper and the other 1/2 with paprika. Both good, but we like spice and next time I'll do cayenne on all. So very easy; so very good. Thank you for this. I've searched and experimented for a long time for the perfect stuffed mushroom recipe. This is it.

Very good "company-worthy" appetizer from just a few simple ingredients. I used finely chopped fresh onions instead of instant.
