92 Reviews of Diet Cola Chicken

From: Chef #418045

This was very good and easy! I browned the chicken in olive oil & I made it fit my diabetic eating plan by substituting a small can of tomato sauce and a tablespoon of splenda in place of the ketchup. I used lemon pepper, seasoning salt, Mrs. Dash, and black pepper for more flavor.

I have made this several times now. Sometimes I follow the recipe exactly, or else I use pureed tomatoes and sugar substitue instead of the ketchup, and I add onions to the sauce. Whichever way i do it everyone enjoys it and asks for more.

YUM, YUM, YUM. Very, very simple but very, very tasty! It was nice to try something so different. I didn't brown the chicken first, but just chucked everything in a pan and simmered for the 45 minutes. It worked out really well and the chicken was tender. I served with carrots, beans and rice. I will make this a lot!

This chicken is so good and tender. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that it seemed too sweet to me, as written. The second time I made it, I used 8 oz. tomato sauce instead of the ketchup. I also used the Splenda-sweetened Diet Coke. It was PERFECT!

I made this for my husband and I tonight to rave reviews. I was a little skeptical, but glad I gave it a shot. I used Diet Coke with Lime and added some onions to the sauce. Nice flavor. We enjoyed it and will make it again. SUPER SIMPLE!

This recipe is definitely odd, but I've made it many times and it's wonderful. I like to add onions and peppers and a little chili powder. You can also use it with pork chops instead of chicken.

I made this tonight for dinner and the whole family loved it. I cut one large onion in slices and added them to the pan while I was browning the chicken (I used about a tablespoon or two of veg. oil instead of the cooking spray). I also added a little garlic powder and black pepper to the ketchup/soda mixture and blended it well before pouring over the chicken. Everyone loved the way the house smelled while it was cooking. I served the chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans ... mmmm .. easy and good!!

It was a very sweet chicken dish and my kids and husband loved it. I added some onion flakes, garlic and chicken seasoning to the chicken and browned it in the pan and then added the sauce. I served it with brown rice. Thanks for the easy recipe!

This was surprisingly good. I cooked it in the slow cooker so I had to add some cornstarch to thicken the sauce. I served it with corn on cob and green peas. One word of advice... if using a slow cooker/crockpot do not cook over 5 hours even on low. It will dry out some. Thanks for submitting.

This turned out very good. I added chopped onions and some garlic powder to the sauce.
