I was kind of surprised at how good this is! The strong flavors of ginger and tea work in wonderful harmony- neither overpowers the other (as ginger and tea have the tendancy to do) but each makes the other seem a little mellower out of its strength. (If that makes sense...) So, yeah... in short- the tea flavor and the ginger flavor went well together. I've never had 'ginger tea' that had actual tea leaves in it. BF couldn't figure out what it was when I served it to him- he couldn't place the ginger or the tea flavor really because they blend so well. I used assam black tea leaves and added a touch of lemon juice rather than milk. BF and I had been feeling kind of funny in our bellies all day and this did the trick for that too in addition to being delicious! Thanks for posting.

Wonderful! I have drank so many glasses of this tea in the past fortnight when I was down with a running nose. Ginger tea was a boon to me. I did use fresh tea leaves and yes, also I did use milk. A wonderful recipe!

I made this tea when I was down with a cold last week and it was so soothing and tasted great! I added a little milk because I like hot tea with it. Thanks for sharing

What a nice little kick the ginger provides! I really like this not only for its obvious properties (denauseating, decongesting) but for the easy way for me to get down my local honey every morning without being overcome by the sugar. Thanks so much for posting this!

After an earache, headache, and vertigo.. this opened my sinus. Used Celestal Seasoning Lemon Tea.. ginger has been reported to help prevent migranes if drunk daily... I'm game. Thank you. p.s. used Splenda

This is a nice calming sipper. I used crystallized ginger and liked the extra bit of sweetness. I also used decaffeinated tea and omitted the milk. This is good even if you aren't nauseated.

Hmmm. This is a nice hot drink, and warmed me up, which is what I wanted. Somehow, though, the ginger-tea combination isn't really something that works real well for my tastebuds. I adore ginger, but like Roosie says, the tea and ginger sort of cancel each other out. In my case, I would have prefered the ginger to take over, I guess. Thank you for a new experience.

WOW. 4 pregnancies have left me very familiar with the effectiveness of ginger against nausea but I'd never thought to pair it with tea before. I didn't think the ginger would go through the garlic press so I put it into a sandwich bag and pulverized it with a meat hammer. Then I made it in the coffeepot with plenty of black tea. The family liked it so much that they immediately demanded a second pot — made even stronger.

My little girl had a tummy ache for a few days and this seemed to soothe her. Whatever makes them happy and comfortable when they are sick makes me a happy mom! Thank you very much.
