Lovely and Fresh! I prepared in pan over gas grill for just about five minutes. I also roasted red pepper and onion along with it to make into a roasted veggies salad. Prepared for ZWT5 Team Jammin Java Jivers.

I thought this was a nice balsamic asparagus recipe. It is not that much of a departure from one of the ways I prepare my asparagus when grilling. I marinated my asparagus in the olive oil, salt, pepper and shallot for an hour or two just because I wanted to prep the dish ahead of time. I grilled the asparagus on my BBQ. I love shallots, but I did not think that the flavor of them came through in this dish (and I used a rather large one). I think you could safely omit them as I didn't really taste them. Also, the balsamic flavor did not seem to be any more powerful than when I marinate my asparagus in olive oil and balsamic for a few hours prior to grilling, thus saving the need to dirty a pan and watch over the stovetop while the balsamic turns to syrup. This was easy to make, though, and tasted good. Made for ZWT5.

As a true balsamic vinegar lover I had to try this dish. It was reduced to serve 2 and it was roasted in the counter top oven. I do like the way that Andi served it and after tossing the reduction with the asparagus I would recommend her method for eye appeal. Made for ZWT 5

We loved this asparagus. It is very simmilar to how I generally do it but I had always roasted it with the balsamic. The reduction was nice as you could drizzle on as much or as little as you want. I found the shallots a lovely addition. They crisped up nicely and added another level of flavor. Made for ZWT5. Thanks for posting - it wil be made again!

A true 5 star if I ever saw one! This was heaven to prepare and the taste beyond exploding with such a smooth, little bit sharp (not to sharp) great for the palette kinda yum! I roasted my asparagus in the oven for about 8 minutes, meanwhile made the vinegar reduction added a spot of salt and poured it on. I did not have shallots I must confess, however; I did have some sweet Vadalia onions that I roasted at the same time with the asparagus. What a wonderful lunch~I think I was at a 5 star restaurant with this dish. Thanks cookiedog! Made for Spring Spectacular April 2008

It was raining today so I roasted the asparagus in my oven. The balsamic sauce was a very nice addition. I was surprised at how sweet the vinegar became. I also enjoyed the roasted shallots. Freshly ground sel de mer was used for the salt. Made for Jammin' Java Jivers ZWT5
