WONDERFUL! I made a half recipe in 2 ramekins using: 1 granny smith apple, half the amount of Splenda brown sugar, Splenda granular and added 1/4 cup golden raisins and some fresh OJ to the topping. It baked up beautifully with spiced apples and plump raisins and a chewy candy like topping. YUM! Made for the 1-2-3 hit wonders tag game.

I used Granny Smith (my first time trying to cook them and I will use them again). For the filling I used only cinnamon (omitted cloves and nutmeg). I did the one big crisp and 40 minutes was perfect. Thanks Bek. Made for Photo tag.

We really enjoyed this for dessert last week. I am so grateful that I could taste the apples without feeling like I was going on an immediate sugar binge. Bravo! The spicing was terrific. I did have to add some extra butter to my topping. I used heaping cups of apples but still think that I will add another cup next time with the amount of topping there is. I made one large crisp and the baking time was perfect. LOVE the one pot instructions. Giving this a 4.5 rounding up to 5. Will be making this again for sure! Thanks, Bek!

I agree that some desserts are just too sweet. This one though, was perfect! The one-pot method is nothing short of genius. I was able to make this recipe, a baked oatmeal in ramekins AND keep the kitchen clean all at the same time. I told DH that when he came home while DD & I were at tumbling class he'd have a hot breakfast of baked oatmeal waiting for him. I didn't mention that I'd made tonight's dessert as well. But when I got home & he was gone again I realized he'd eaten the apple crisp! When he came home from work he said, "I wasn't sure what to do. I didn't want to eat the food that needed a photo so I chose the big pan instead of the cute little individual ones." Well, I couldn't get a good photo of the half eaten pan, so for brunch DD & I had apple crisp & ice cream. Some days are just fun like that! I'll be making this quick & easy dessert often! Thanks for sharing such a great recipe, Bek! Made in gratitude for encouraging my interest in photo taking.

This is a delicious apple crisp recipe! It's really wonderful with great flavor! My DH, who is a big apple crisp fan, raved about it. I will be making this often.

This recipe made it into our Favorite Finds of 2008. 6/23/08 - Ooh this is so yummy! I made 3 individual servings for brunch using 3 golden delicious apples and halved the sugar amounts for the apple portion of this recipe. I sprinkled the apple slices with a few sliced almonds before putting the topping on. Also for the topping, I didn't melt the butter, but made a crumble topping using firm butter. The topping was piled high when I placed them in the oven on a foil covered baking sheet (to make clean up easy). Baking them softened the apples, and melted the topping down so it ended up almost level with the top of the ramekins when they were done. They turned out perfect. Simple and easy, this is a wonderful brunch or dessert item. Thanks for posting!

yummy! This is a simple, but wonderful recipe that we were able to make with ingredients we already had in our pantry. We made this just as directed and it turned out great! This one's a keeper!!!

This is a yummy apple treat! I used Granny Smith apples as you suggested and enjoyed the sweet/tart flavor it gave the crisp. I halved the recipe and served with vanilla ice cream - great dessert - thanks for sharing the recipe! Made for the Best of 2008 event

This was good. I made one big crisp. I wished I would have had some ice cream or cool whip on hand but it was fine without any.

Wonderful! I am a long-time fan of apple crisp and this is a good recipe! My individual sized casserole dishes must have held a little more than the dish called for because I got only 3 servings from this recipe. I used Fiji apples and made without nuts. The hint of clove was very good in this crisp. My usual apple crisp does not include clove. Thank you for sharing, Gatorbeck!
