When making these goodies, you might try injecting the strawberries (before dipping) with a touch of an orange liquer or your favourite.

These are wonderful!!! This is the best recipe for chocolate covered strawberries. I just love the ease of this recipe. I prepared my choco mixture in the microwave, it was PERFECT. I nuked the mixture for 45 seconds, stirred it, than i nuked it in 10 second intervals making sure to stir. I stopped microwaving once the ingredients were almost melted i just stirred the rest of the way to ensure the choco did not burn. Dipped the berries and placed them on foil (didn't have wax paper). It took about 45 minutes for mine to set up but these are so beautiful i would wait all day if i had to. I used Ghirardelli 3/4 c. semisweet choco and 3/4 c. dark chocolate for the recipe (since my mom loves dark chocolate). Not only beautiful but delicious as well. If you want to impress your guests and family this is an easy way to do it. Thank you so much Karen =)

Here is a trick for drying these without them touching anything. Insert a toothpick into the stem end of the strawberry and turn upside down. Stick the other end into a peice of styrofoam. Works like a charm!!

I served these for a Valentine's dessert and it was a huge hit. I was not sure about the 6 T of butter but these were awesome. When I have made chocolate covered strawberries in the past the chocolate cracked when you bit into it and these were so smooth and delicious. I had 16 oz. of strawberries and used about 1/2 of the chocolate. I am going out tomorrow to buy more fruit to use up the rest. I melted mine in the microwave with no problem. Highly recommend this recipe for an indulgance.

I made this for a party during the summer but forgot to review it. These strawberries were a big hit with everyone! I tried using some leftover chocolate bars (yes, there is such a thing in my house) with icky results. I tried again with chocolate chips and thr results were great! Thank you so much for sharing this recipe!!!

I added a little sugar and salt to my dip but that's just a personal preference. I didn't have any sterofoam so I used my speghetti strainer, just inserted the tooth pick lol. these were great, so pretty to llok at and the best part is every one thought I stayed up all night making them

This recipe made me feel like a professional caterer. The platter was lovely, and my guests were very impressed. I had LOTS of choclate left over so I dipped some dried apricots, too. This is so easy..anyone can make these successfully. I used the microwave to make it even easier. Thanks!

I thought these were pretty good and they were GONE at the party I brought them to. The recipe covered about 40 BIG berries and I made them the night before and lkept them in the fridge until the party the next day. They kept well - but the butter gave them a diff. taste - not a bad taste, just different han what we were used to...It also created a softer shell - not nearly as crumbly as usual. Thanks for sharing!

Fabulous recipe Karen! I used Ghirardelli double chocolate chips, and some beautiful strawberries. We melted the mixture in the microwave...it took about 2 minutes. Great, easy recipe that I will come back to again and again!
