The melting peanut butter, warm jelly, and dripping butter only needed one more thing in our house: a dusting of powdered sugar! Yum!

First of all, i have to mention that i get "The Look" every time i say "fried PB&J". You know the one i'm talking about! But, after trying it for breakfast myself, i made it for my husband and son. They both loved it, and in fact my husband was just telling some friends of ours about his new "favorite" sandwich! LOL Thanks a bunch for sharing this recipe, it's a regular treat, breakfast, or lunch in our house now!

I thought this was awesome! Totally ignore the poster who was nasty about it. Her loss!! What a great idea to grill it. I made it for my one year old niece and dusted it with powdered sugar and she gobbled it UP! I think I will try it with bananas rather than jelly or maybe do the honey just as a variation. I think I may even make it pb and choc chips next time. Ahhh..what possiblities!!!

My mom made these for us when we were kids, sometimes she would mix some eggs and milk together and dip these before she cooked them, and she would then serve these with maple syrup.

I could not believe that a PBJ sandwich could be improved. I LOVE PB and grape jelly sandwiches on very fresh bread. I am crazy about this sandwich, dear. Color me stunned and thrilled. I am so picky about my PBJ sandwiches I will refuse to make one if the bread is't VERY fresh and soft. I was craving a PBJ but my bread wasn't fresh enough to my liking but with this method it didn't matter. I still can't believe that my all time favorite sandwich had an even better way to be prepared. I can't wait to make one of these for Dugan.. he is gonna freak out!

I grew up on these sandwiches and still love them today. I prefer them to grilled cheese anyday

I love these. The first time I had them as a kid, I wasn't sure what to think, but I've been addicted ever since. These are especially good with homemade strawberry jam! YUMMMM

When my 3 year old saw that I was making him a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, he was excited, because of course they're his favorite. Then he saw me put the button on the bread, and it about had a fit!!!!! I told him I was gonna cook it, and he wasn't too sure about it, but when they were done, and I was nicely arranging them on the plate to take a pic, he snagged them and started eating them. He says it dewicious.
I HATE pb&j sandwiches, but I also tried one, and it is now the only way I will eat it. Thanks for a great recipe.

This has always been a favorite of mine, although we call it grilled pbj and prepare it like a grilled cheese sandwich. A local restaurant serves this on thick texas toast...also yummy!
