Sue L, my dear, this is just divine. WOW!! It disappeared at my house too. Creamy and buttery. I liked the use of cayenne for some spiciness. Comfort food extraordinaire. Thanks. I look forward to making this all winter long ;D

I can't believe how quick and easy this was to make! I added chopped celery, and it turned out wonderful! Thick, rich and creamy!

This is a really great recipe. I halved it, for just me and my husband, and added a small carrot, finely grated, to the onion mixture. I used two 6.5 oz. cans of chopped clams and it was perfect...thick, creamy and tasty. Thanks Sue for a great recipe.

This was very good. I had never had "from scratch" chowder and was surprised it was so easy. I followed the recipe except used celery salt instead of seeds cause I didn't have any. It was also a bit thinner than what I am used to (Campbell's of course) so I thickened it at the end with 2 TB cornstarch slurry and used a few tablespoons of heavy cream for body and texture. Thanks Sue L- you are one of my favorite chefs at 'zaar!

Excellent, rich-tasting soup, Sue. I had to adjust the seasonings a little based on what I had at home (no celery seed...substituted Old Bay for that and the cayenne, used fresh parsley instead of dried). It was excellent this way, and I look forward to trying it with the "right" combo of seasonings!

This is a very tasty soup. It was very easy to prepare. I did put a little to much cayenne pepper!! But it was still delicious. My husband bragged about this soup to everyone (and it was so easy to make!)!

This clam chowder was DELICIOUS!! We loved it so much we made ourselves sick! I did add a few extra potatoes (closer to 5 cups) and it was just right, so I would recommend that. I skipped the parsley as I didn't have any and used about 1/3 cup finely chopped celery instead of the celery seed (threw it in and cooked it with the onion). Thanks to Sue L! This is definately a keeper recipe! Oh PS, I made french bread Basic Machine French Bread in my bread machine, cut the loaf in half, dug out the insides and used each 1/2 as a bread bowl. The bread recipe is another 5 stars! SO GOOD TOGETHER!!

I made this recipe for my weekly soup lunch at work this week, and it had nothing but positive comments about it. I had one lady that didn't like clam chowder and she even liked it. I made this Tuesday night. I turned off the heat once I added the clams, so they wouldn't get tough. I cooled it and put it in the fridge and I slowly warmed it in my 6 qt Nesco about an hour before lunch time. I did make one minor change. Instead of the celery seed. I added about 1/2 finely chopped celery(I couldn't find my celery seed). Thank you for making my soup lunch a success this week.
