Tasty, simple, and economical. Loved that it could go in the oven with my pork chops! I reduced the butter to 2 tablespoons. Stirred in some parmesan at the end and yum that was good! Plan on using the leftover rice in Risotto Cakes. Thanks Noo for posting. Made for 1-2-3 Hits.

This was a very tasty rice dish...I didn't read the instructions all the way through first so all my butter was added in step 1. Although the flavour was nice when making again I'd reduce the butter by half (just to make it a little more healthier) Reviewed for Spring PAC '08.

This was a great simple and quick rice side dish!!! I made as written, although allowing for some light color in rice and onion. It is nice and buttery, but felt it was two much, so only used 3 ounces of the butter. I still felt it needed more flavor, so added some Lawry's Seasoned Salt just before serving and we really enjoyed the rice. Next time I will just cook it on stove top with the lid that way not having to heat oven and top. Thanks for sharing a great recipe Noo. Made for PRMR.

Yummy rice, I reduced the butter by half, then kept to the recipe. We all enjoyed it espcially Little Miss (DD). I used it as a side dish with Chicken Kabuli (Murgh Kabuli) Thank you for posting Noo

The simplicity of this side appealed to be but I just couldn't bring myself to use all of the ask for fat. I used 1 tsp of canola oil total for the onion and rice in the first step. It came up nicely flavored with the onion and would be good with many entree's. It was enjoyed, thanks for posting it Noo. :D

This was a simple and easy way to prepare a very simple rice dish. You could use this as a Springboard for many other types of rice; add parmesan and mushroom, or lemon and asparagus, yummm I can think of many ways to jazz this up...however, it is yummy plain too! ALL OF MY FOUR KIDS ATE THIS...so that makes it a winner in my book!

I made this as a side to go with Greek Island Chicken With Marinated Artichokes, and it was dee lish! I did add some grape tomatoes cut in half, chopped Kalamata olives and sprinkled FF feta in at the end of cooking time. This rice is one that I will make often, as I just loved it, and you can add whatever you want to accommodate your main dish! Thank you for sharing it with us Noo! Very tasty rice which I used as a bed for some tasty lamb kebabs which had been marinated in Sharon123's Basic Kiwi Marinade. I reduced the butter, added some garlic (can rarely resist doing that) in step one, and included two of Noo's suggested additions: mushrooms and pine nuts. For the stock I used my Vegetable Stock. A really great rice with meat. Following WiGal's, I used the leftover rice to make my own Risotto Cakes, and this rice worked really well in those! Love the wealth of all the Zaar recipes but as others have said at times I miss making at least some of my own recipes! Thanks for sharing another great recipe, Noo, one that I know I'll be using again. Made for Gimme 5.
