5 Reviews of Ultimate Smoothie

I drink a lot of smoothies but I wanted to try this one for proportions. The amount of yogurt, fruit, and milk is right on for me. I used fat free french vanilla yogurt, almond milk, and strawberries. I found that I needed 2 tbsps of sugar to make it sweet enough for us. My daughter and I split this and it was a lovely morning drink. Thanks for submitting it, Megan V.

I used frozen peaches and loved the creamy thickness of this drink. I agree with Ladypit that it needs more than 1 tablespoon of sugar. I'm also planning on making this again and using mixed berries.

The proportions of milk, yogurt and frozen fruit were perfect for us--just the right consistency for a smoothie. I've got a non-milk drinker, so I like that this has a good amount of calcium and protien. I used frozen strawbereries. Based on the previous reviews, I added a heaping tablespoon of sugar, which I found perfect and dd would have liked a little sweeter.

This is the perfect smoothie — tastes like a booster juice smoothie. However, unlike the other reviewers, I only added one teaspoon of sugar, which was more than adequate. I enjoy the natural sweetness of fruits, and usually prefer drinks without the added sugar. Putting more sugar would have made this taste like a bad milkshake. It was perfect the way I made it. Also, I used a four berry blend and instead of vanilla, I used what I had on hand which was blueberry yogourt. Thanks for this, I will be making it again!

Sorry to say this smoothie didnt work to well for us. I used frozen strawberries, frozen banana, and skim milk. After blended we did have a nice creamy thick smoothie but the flavor was just not there for us. Flavored yogurt to correspond with the frozen fruit chosen would be nice I think. Thank you Megan for posting your recipe, I will give this a try again at a later date. Made and reviewed for Pick A Chef Spring 2009.
