A favorite since childhood! I used walnuts and raspberry preserves but you could use about any flavor of preserves and these would be great!

delicious! i did however add 1 tsp of vanilla instead of 1/2 tsp which gave it a richer taste, the kids loved filling in their thumb prints with jelly!

I LOVED these, not too sweet and a wonderful sandy texture. I used apricot and cherry preserves and used macadamias and almonds for the nuts. When I ran out of nuts I used honey-crunch wheat-germ and it was great as well. Took to work, gone in fifteen minutes. These are so fast to make, wonderful!

Great tasting and colourful cookies. I found that some of the "thumbprints" puffed up a bit with baking and just pressed them down a bit as soon as I took them out of the oven. And I must have made them bigger because I didn't get anywhere near 36 cookies. Next time I'll double the recipe. Very good cookies.

YUM!! I used walnuts and blackberry jam and they were delicious. I couldn't stop eating them and neither could my brother! I think he at 4 or 5 at a time! Really easy and so good!

This is the exact same recipe I use from my Betty Crocker Book, which is what my mother used to make these every Christmas. I love them filled with strawberry jam.

MizzNezz, I have to tell you that I never tried a thumbprint cookie before, because I'm not a jelly fan. I had a lady from work ask me to make her some for a charity event. But I want you to know, I tried a small bit of one in order to do a review from me, and lets say I could have eaten the whole batch. I used red raspberry preserves and I had some blueberry preserves that I used in another recipe from zaar. These literally melt in your mouth. Thank you for sharing this recipe. I can't wait for my annual christmas cookie exchange this year.
