it doesn't get much easier than this! easy creamy beans, these were a great side dish with chili, and i plan to use the leftovers in burritos tomorrow

Easy and good result. I can't wait til it cools down to see what kind of dip it will make! No reason to buy canned refried beans and I think you could even leave the oil out of these for a non fat version easily.

I was without a stove for 6 wks, which was a long time for a family used to eating a lot of beans and rice. I usually make my own stove-top refried beans so was a bit unsure about a microwave version that used canned beans, but it worked out very well and was still light-years ahead of those nasty canned refried beans. We made this many times during that 6 wk period and it turned out perfect every time (though I never did use the cheese). Thanks so much for all of the dinner saves!

Well I had to do things differently because I didn't have the canned pinto beans. I cooked some dry pinto beans and then mashed them with the oil and chicken broth. The blend of seasonings was the best. I am not allowed to buy canned refried beans in my house again=) I used your recipe in Bean/Cheese Burritos and they were a big hit.

I wasn't too sure about making something like this in the microwave, but since I saw the good reviews I decided to give it a try and enjoyed it very much. I added a little too much broth because I was nervous about it being too dry, so next time I will put 1/2 cup rather than 3/4 cup.

It seems I always come back to some of the same chefs! I loved this, it was quick, tasty and I could control the salt and fat. I left out the olive oil ( as one reviewer suggested) to save the fat and added a minced garlic clove and a minced jalepeno. I also omitted the cheese. Sorry to mess with your recipe so much!
