Absolute heaven. I prepared these ahead of time for Thanksgiving dinner and pop them in the oven for about 35 minutes before dinner. I added a few changes with a tsp of vanilla and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg and cinnamon. It was almost like eating dessert. This will be repeated for all our holiday gatherings.

Thank you so very much for this one. Last year I was hosting Thanksgiving for 2 families and had a rush towards the end trying to find a good side recipe. I hadn't found any original Sweet Potato recipes and stumbles across this one. It was one of the favorite items at last years dinner. It has become a page in my Thanksgiving Dinner recipe book. It was simple to do and the taste, Wonderful. Thank you again.

Holy WOW these are good. Now I put the pecans in my food processor so they'd be super tiny pieces which seemed to work well. I also used a vanilla flavored boubon (Phillips Union is a terrific label- mmmm!) and that extra hint of vanilla just totally made the dish. (If you can't find Phillips Union at your local liquor store, I'd suggest about a tablespoon of vanilla.) 5 stars are not enough- this is like a 7 star dish. Heaven has a taste my friends, and it is these Bourbon Sweet Potatoes!

This is an incredibly good recipe. By far the best sweet potato dish I have ever eaten.

I've never had sweet potatoes except for as a kid during school lunch. yuk! Knowing that sometimes people don't like certain foods because of a bad recipe experience, I decided to give this recipe a try. This was an excellent dish, I wish I had tried something like this earlier...all those years of wasted sweet potato munching. I used the recommended 8 sweet potatoes, but they were very large. It made about 2 large casserole dishes-worth and could quite easily have been made with only 4 large sweet potatoes.

Took it to a Family Reunion and got rave reviews. Even my MIL loved it and she couldn't believe I made it!

These turned out great - about 2 hours after Thanksgiving dinner. I boiled the sweet potatoes for 15 minutes, not 12, and left them in the water to cook a little longer after I turned off the burner. Refrigerated them overnight, then cooked as directed. They were still crunchy after half an hour in the oven, when the rest of dinner was ready. Covered the casserole, put them back in and forgot about 'em for probably another hour and a half. When they came out the second time, they were delicious. So... watch the cooking times with this one (I'm at altitude, might make a difference?) and try the recipe before the big event.
