I have tried different recipes for 'Ranch' mix, but this one is definetly the best. Instead of using mayo and buttermilk, I used 2 cups of sour cream for the dip. For the dressing I use 1 c. sour cream and 1 c. buttermilk. Good recipe!

This is the BEST! I made it using only 1/2 the dill because I was afraid it would be too much. (Personal taste) I added some Hormel Real Bacon Bits to make it into Bacon Ranch and it tasted even better than my favorite that costs about $4.00 a jar. This will be my fav from now on. No more store-bought second best for me! Thanks a bunch Barbara.

I didn't make the dressing, but I like to make quite a few recipes that call for dry ranch mix, thus my delight in finding this recipe. I absolutely could not tell the difference between this and store bought. It was so simple and definitely a money saver. I doubled the onion powder and garlic powder, as I omitted the onion salt and garlic salt. I also used low sodium saltines, to keep the sodium a little bit lower. Thanks for this wonderful keeper!

What a lifesaver recipe! Can't buy ranch mix here in Australia, so it's great to be able to make it. Mixed it up with 2 cups sour cream as a dip, great memories from when I was in the States. Thanks.

i give this a five star only if you use one TEASPOON of the mix to 1 cup of mayo and 1 cup of buttermilk....the amounts given of the dry mix to the 1 cup mayo and 1 cup buttermilk is way too much...if you reduce the amount of dry mix to the liquid it is really close to the original....

I have made this a few times and have found it a bit salty. I removed the onion and garlic salt and added more dill. Works great. Im thinking the salt on the crackers and the salts(garlic/onion) were too much. It has been the ranch staple in my house since I first tried it. Saved the pocket book for sure! Thanks!!

Excellent! The flavor is way better than any store bought Ranch that I've tried, and it's really easy to make. (Fun, too!) It is a bit thin for my taste, so I'm gonna try adding a few more crackers and/or more mayo. Almost every bottle of dressing I've ever bought has gone bad before it's gone, so this will be really nice to have around. Also, I'm giving it as part of several Christmas gifts this year with instructions for dressing, dip, and several Recipezaar recipes!

This has been my favorite ranch clone for several years now, don't remember where I saw it originally. The recipe as stated makes about 40 tablespoons dry mix, and I usually cut the recipe in half when I make it. I've shared it with numerous friends and family and everyone loves it. Also a great convenience and money-saver, too, as an added bonus.

I made it for the first time the other day and thought it was very runny. I should of used less dill like the one person said. It taste more like a dill dressing rather then ranch.
