The smell of garlic, chili, sesame oil. Wonderful! Used just a pinch of sugar as we do not like it too sweet. For the rest I made it just as stated. The recipe might have been for four servings, the two of us finished it off in one go....... Thanks for posting. Made for PAC Spring '08.

Outstanding flavour and wonderful colour. I used seedless, unpeeled cucumbers from our garden, and only 1 teaspoon of sugar. Absolute perfection. Made and enjoyed to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

I was looking for a salad recipe to use up a large, slightly limp cucumber. I came across this one (thanks to Leggy Peggy). It sounded so different and it was. We loved it, such a refreshing flavour. It will be made quite often in this household. and my DB

I made this salad including the sweet red pepper for a graduation picnic/party with fresh cukes from the garden. Sadly no one ate it. The few guests that did add it to their plate didn't care for the taste. Thanks anyway.

I loved this!!!!! So pretty and so freaking tasty!! One of my all time favorite cucumber salads for sure. Perfect flavors. Left out the pepper, as no one likes hot stuff in the house. Made for Veg*n Swap.

I love cucumber salad and this is a great recipe! I had chili garlic paste in the fridge so I substituted that for the red chili in the recipe and it added a wonderful kick. I like my cucumbers sliced thin so that it can absorb all of the flavors of the dressing. I also left the skin on the cucumbers. I like how they taste and appreciate the added nutrients!

Very good cucumber salad. I used just a pinch of sugar and a teaspoon of sesame oil, chili flakes, and a whole red bell pepper. The flavors in this come together nicely — we really enjoyed it.

this one really divides the nation doesnt it? we didnt like it at all! Hubby sad he didnt mind the flavour, but would like it better as a dressing over a mixed salad, (tomatoes, lettuce etc) I thought the sesame oil was overpowering and the wilted cucs unappetising. I am not awarding stars, I respect the fact that everyone has different tastes. The recipe is fine, easy to follow etc, just not my cup-a-tea.
