5 Reviews of Poor Man's Lobster

From: Juniperbark

On Feb 4, 2003

Okay, maybe it's the power of suggestion, but this really does taste something like lobster! I tried the recipe with fresh cod (the cheapest fish I could find at my supermarket) and it worked perfectly. Good recipe. Very, very easy to prepare.

This does have the taste of lobster! I served it with margarine that had lime squeezed in it. I too used cod and it worked well. Thanks!

Yummy fish recipe. The taste really is very similar to lobster, but you just can't expect a flaky fish like haddock to have the same texture. I did add some sugar to the water mixture; I think that helped make it taste more lobsterish. I served it with melted garlic butter. Thanx for sharing!

DH and I agree, nothing like lobster, but still nice. Gave a very firm piece of cooked fish, would be great if you needed to use cold boiled fish for any reason.
