OMG Mimi, you are a queen!! What a great cake. Thanks so much for posting this recipe. When looking for vanilla sugar I also found orange sugar and I may try that next time with a vanilla soda! Thanks again for a great dessert!

This cake really is fantastic! I was a bit apprehensive due to the unusual ingredients but the end result was flavourful and moist. Everyone who had some loved it. I made my own vanilla sugar rather than buying it with satisfactory results. Thanks for posting the recipe.

My sons and I made this cake last year to celebrate our German heritage at International dinner day for our church. It was a big hit and everyone loved it. We are planning to make it again this year. I wasn't to sure about an orange cake made with soda but it was FANTAstic!!!
