Loved the way that the flour thickened up the "sauce". I had to cook them longer than 20 minutes to get them soft enough--guess next time I'll have to slice the apples thinner. Kids had fun making them for a challenge in ZWT4.

This was really yummy, and a simple dessert. The sauce was so yummy, it made my DH admit that this should get 4 stars, even though he thought it was too tart with Granny Smith apples. Thank you for posting! Made for ZWT4.

We liked it! The sauce turns into a delicious thick caramel syrup. Next time I would cut the lemon juice at least in half, but there will definitely be a next time! Made for ZWT, please see my rating system as I rate tougher than most.

Made for ZWT4 Cooking with Kids Challenge. My 2 year old LOVED the carmel sauce to say the least! Thanks for a fun and easy recipe.

I had Gala apples so I used that. Cut the butter to 1 Tbsp of heart healthy margarine, used 3/4 Tbsp Splenda Brown Sugar and 1/2 a tsp of cinnamon. The apple and cinnamon aroma is lovely and it even enticed DH to share it with me!. I made this as a breakfast dish and we both loved it. The apples are tender and delicious. Made for ZWT4.

I don't by Granny Smith apples very often but found two left over from Thanksgiving so I decided to give this recipe a try. This is really easy and good. I used brown sugar splenda and added some freshly grated nutmeg. Thanks. I'll be making this one again.

I really enjoyed this, used brown sugar splenda blend too, and low fat butter. An easy but yummy dessert especially after a very spicy dinner when i needed to cool my mouth down lol

Hi Maryland Jim, how wonderful! I made this because I had the yen for apple pie and this was even better! I used a Granny Smith apple but used very little lemon juice and used brown sugar substitute and it was awesome! Thank you for posting such a great recipe! I made this for 'I Recommend ...A New Thread" and it was from puppitypup's recommendation, Diane
