I used to work the grill @ outback and this is not how you do it. First you Grill the Chickin over flames, then put your Honey Mustard, Mushrooms, Bacon and then Cheese over the top of that. Melt underneath a Salamander which is like broiling in your Oven.. That is how you do it.

This was great! I cooked the chicken on my George Forman grill, used the outback copy cat honey mustard recipe (#131871), sauteed the mushrooms first & went with the chedder & mont. jack blend shredded cheese and threw it under the broiler for a few minutes to melt everything together. Delish!!

This was really delicious and easy !!! I won't make this too often because it is one of those VERY rich special recipes... but I might just have to make it again very soon because I can't stop thinking about it !!! Only thing I did differently was I made it with fresh mushrooms sauteed with garlic... delicious !

This is a great and different way to cook chicken. At first I was worried it would be too sweet, and my husband got scared when he saw me putting honey mustard on his chicken, but he gobbled it right up and raved about it. I did one thing different: I added green onions and sauteed them with the mushrooms in some butter before placing them on the chicken for baking. I also made my own honey mustard dressing. Mmmm....

This is a very close adaptation of the Outback's recipie. This is really good if you are in a hurry. There is a version posted under the same name at allrecipies.com that is a little more involved, but tastes exactly like the original. I am going to keep both on file , and thanks for the shortcut version!

I am rating this recipe on it's absolute deliciousness!!! I have never had this at Outback (can't get past the steak), but if it is as good as this I have been missing OUT!!! The only difference I made was that I made Splenda Mustard instead of Honey mustard...it works better than you would think. Make sure your chicken breasts are the reccommended 1/2 thick..so they cook faster. GREAT recipe Pugs and Kisses!!! Thank YOu!

Very good! I've never had Outback's version. I modified this slightly. I coated the bottom of the baking dish with the homemade honey mustard. I placed the bacon on the chicken before the mushrooms. I thought that the bacon would give the mushrooms something to hold on to.. I was right. I couldn't help but to saute some minced onion along with the mushrooms. I drained and patted my canned mushrooms dry and browned with the onions. I topped with slices of baby swiss cheese (that's all I had) and I had a roasted red pepper to use up, so I topped the cheese with strips of pepper and some minced fresh parsley. (made it pretty and added color) I felt that the honey mustard flavor was key, so when plating, I placed the chicken on top of a pool of the honey mustard sauce. Totally yummy!

You know it's a good recipe when your husband goes back for seconds! I make this often now. I use turkey bacon to make it slightly more healthy. I usually skip the marinating to save time, but it still tastes great. I also use 2 chicken breasts and slice them in half so they are thinner and cook faster. (Make sure you don't fall into the temptation of flipping your chicken too often when cooking in the pan. Just let it cook for about 5 minutes on each side.) I usually serve with rice and broccoli or sautéed carrots & snow peas in a butter dill sauce with Outback Steakhouse Copycat Bread (Gluten Free). Yum!

Really good!
My only problem is that I always get it without the honey mustard and get that great spicy ranch to put on it! I'll have to find that recipe now too!
