Different people look for different things in a spaghetti sauce. In fact, your spaghetti sauce says alot about you as a person. This is undoubtedly the best spaghetti sauce I have ever had! It is full-bodied but balanced. It is meaty yet the meat does not overwhelm the flavor. With a sprinkle of parmesan, a french baguette and a red wine on the side this sauce creates the perfect evening! I'm love this chef!!

Bev, your spaghetti sauce is out of this world delicious!!! This was THE BEST I have ever had. I was already looking forward to having the leftovers tonight as I was eating it last night!! I followed the recipe to a "T" except for the bay leaves, only because I didn't have any on hand. Thank you, thank you for posting this!!!

I doubled everything, and as it simmered & I tasted, I felt it was a bit bland & added three additional cloves of roasted garlic, a few shakes of red pepper & a pinch of sugar. I made 2 large pans of lasagna with the sauce & have enough leftover in the freezer for probably 4 servings of spaghetti — so glad I doubled it (use a BIG stockpot if you do). I really like the blend of the different types of tomato products. Thanks Bev!

Excellent sauce Bev! I usually make my own recipe that I have been making for years so I thought I would try something different and we all enjoyed this very much!! Sure made alot of sauce I was able to feed 5 of us and still had plenty left over. I froze the rest for another day. I didn't add mushrooms but put plenty of parmesan cheese on. Delicious, thanks for sharing.

Simple, Easy, and Taste Great! What more can you ask for. Prepared it the night before and placed it in the liner of my crockpot. All I had to do is take it out of the refrig and cook it on low for 8 hours. Served it with garlic fettucine, Three Cheese Texas Toast and side salad.

A good basic sauce, but found it was just missing something. I felt it just needed something to bring it above just a tomato flavor. I put more garlic in it and a bit of sugar and that seemed to help. I think using 1/2 italian sausage would added flavor too.

I give this 5 stars for being easy to make, inexpensive and delicious! Only changes: Added mushrooms to the sauteed ingredients in the beginning, added more garlic, and used 1/2 lb italian sausage and 1 lb ground beef. Will be my regular spaghetti recipe from now on. Thanks Bev!

I made this recipe this weekend at my son's request for italian food. I did add a few more cloves of garlic but that was the only change. Bev, this was great. Just spicy enough. DH said it was the best Spaghetti I have ever made. Served this with a green salad and homemade bread sticks. Excellent dinner. Thanks Bev!

Wonderful! Bev, thanks for posting this, as it reminded me that I used to make spaghetti sauce from scratch all the time. The recipe was very easy to follow and the resulting sauce certainly was delicious. I did have to add extra salt, as well as about a tsp or so of sugar to cut the acidity. Not only did we have a great spaghetti dinner last night, but I also now have a container of sauce waiting in the freezer, so I know I'll be enjoying this again soon!

I had fun making this sauce because I used ingredients I don't normally use like fresh mushrooms, bay leaves, and olive oil. My personal preference forced me to add a tablespoon of sugar to sweeten the slightly acidic taste and I also added green bell pepper.
