Made this last night for a Mommy and Me playdate...it got rave reviews..everyone loved it so much! A few of the moms are gonna ditch the traditional Pumpking Pie at Thanksgiving this year and make this instead!!! I was asked for the recipe quite a few times. I'm so happy to have found it! YUMMY!!

I made this tonight as a test run for Thanksgiving. Outstanding!!! It really was too easy, yet so delicious. I was expecting this to be kind of like a pumpkin pie, but the flavor of the nuts, cake & pumpkin all combined to make it a really interesting & irresistible dessert for the Holidays.I used the yellow cake mix & walnuts,& also used pumpkin pie spice.THANKS!!

I've made this a few years now (originally from another recipe website) and it's great. I toast the pecans in butter and instead of whipped cream, I use crumb cake topping (taken from a favorite crumb cake recipe) and call it Pumpkin Crumb Crunch Cake. It's a hit among many pumpkin fans during the holidays and requested by many.

Yummy! I had a can of pumpkin to use from Thanksgiving and thought this was perfect. Everyone loved it but it's very rich so we all had just a small piece. Will make again!

WOW!!!!!! This is a 10 star recipe!!! THE best fall cake I have ever tasted
My husband was getting jealous because of all the ooohhs and aaahhhs I was making
My family just kept eating it and eating it. I am making it again today for hubby's office staff. I used the yellow cake mix and walnuts. Thanx for a winner!!!

This gets a 5 star rating based on my tastes as I am the one who chose to make this for Thanksgiving! I only added pecans to 1/4 to 1/3 of the recipe, as my kids and DH don't care for nuts. I think it is delicious!!! But my son who loves pumpkin pie tried it and found the pumpkin part mushy and the topping too buttery(which did not include the nuts). So to me his opinion doesn't count as it is not the true recipe, but just thought I would include his opinion, mind you he is only 15.

Made this last night to see if I wanted it for Thanksgiving. Let my 4 yr old daughter have it for breakfast because she usually has pumpkin bread. She said, Mama, you should make this instead from now on. I think that says everything! Thanks!

I made this with my girl scout troop to enter a pumpkin pie contest. It was very "pumpkinny" and had a different spin on pumpkin pie. Very similar to "dump cakes" where you use pie fillings and top with cake mix, butter, and nuts. As for the pie contest, the girls won 1st prize. Thanks for the recipe.

I cannot say enough about this recipe. I made it after I smelled in cooking at a friends house. Its smell, taste, texture is intoxicating. This is an amazing sub for pumpkin pie. And tastes MUCH better. When I made it the first time, I omitted the allspice and the nutmeg since I didn't have any on hand..and it was still delicious. My pumpkin hating husband devours it. He asks for it all the time!!! You will not be disappointed with this one.
