I followed the recipe except for the salt and I used a whole bag of confectioners sugar (32 oz) that I bought. Not sure if it comes out to 5 cups but made plenty for a two layer 9 inch cake with some left over. I used my Kitchen aid and it fluffed up the icing real nice. This will be my standard icing that I will go to for a reference.

This icing is delicious. I halved the recipe and used it to frost Pound Cake Cookies. I still had just a little bit of icing left over.

Really simple, good, icing recipe. I added kaluah and a bit of coco for a very nice mocha icing. Turned out nice and fluffy with the help of my kitchen aid.

Very easy and quick recipe. I found it a little too sweet and thick but once I doubled the milk and added a splash of almond extract it was PERFECT! This will be the recipe I use for all of my cakes and brownies now, its just too easy!

I made a double batch of this to frost a 3 layer (8 inch layers) cake for my son's birthday. It was DELICIOUS. I got so many compliments from the guests. I made 2 layers of Wilton (www.wilton.com) basic yellow cake and one layer of Dark Chocolate Cake Recipe from this website #2496

This icing is really nice on its own and as a base. I cut the vanilla in half and added mint extract instead. It was the perfect hint of flavour - not to overpowering.

Wow, very Good! I used it to frost Dark Chocolate Cake and it was so tasty! I had some leftovers that I want to eat it with a spoon! Next time it will be a good idea to used a red colour and turn it to pink! I also used some more milk! Thanks so much for sharing!

Wow. I have only started making things from scratch the past few years and this frosting with the dark chocolate cake is rich. I added pink coloring for my daughter's birthday and she loved her pink cake!
