16 Reviews of Babs' Black Bean Grilled Cheese Sandwich....it's Bad!!!

It's bad, it's bad you know it! YUUMMMY! I made this with light Jewish rye and margarine. I baked it in the oven at 450F, 5min for the 1st side then turned over for another 4min. PERFECT! It has a wonderful mix of flavors and is heartier than a regular grilled cheese sandwich so it's more filling. This is a KEEPER for me as I'm trying to cut down on eating meat and this satisfies a sandwich craving. Made for the Holiday tag game.

Made & reviewed for my PAC baby! OK, this is a ridiculous sandwich - ridiculously GOOD that is! I made the first one as directed, which was very tasty. I then mixed a little vinegar, salt, olive oil & cayenne into the beans & marinated them for 15 mins before making the next sandwiches. This time they blew me away! I tried this last week & have made it 3 times since - I'm addicted now. Thanks so much Peggy for a killer sandwich

I own up Peggy - I could NOT get hold of Pepper Jack cheese - so I used peppered Cheddar instead! I am going to slap you now - on the back - for a GREAT snack recipe!! Lovely flavours and great combination. And..........I made my own Rye Bread - which went so well with all the other ingredients! I halved the recipe, and then had to make more for Malcolm! Photo to follow....made for Holiday Tag - and a GREAT choice! Thanks Pegster! FT

Great spin on grilled cheese that i NEVER would have thought of. I've also tried adding a bit of sour cream and tomato in the middle and it's fantastic! A little cilantro and cumin also make a good twist on this. Thanks alot!

I didn't have rye bread so I used multi-grain. Next time I'll use more cheese and less beans but I like all the flavors together.

OMG! This is the greatest sandwich! I did add cilantro and dipped this in hot picante sauce! You really gotta try this sandwich! This should be on the menu at TGI Friday's or Chili's! What can I say but WOW!!!!

This sandwich is really good. I enjoyed it exactly as written and my husband had his with Jalapeno pepper and a bit of chilli powder. Served it with baked sweet potato fries, veggies & dip. I will make this again for sure.
