Kitten...as usual I don't know why I look elsewhere when I want a perfect recipe! I threw out 2 batches of hard-boiled eggs using others' methods because they weren't cooked and wouldn't peel. Funny thing is...I never cared how ugly my eggs looked after peeling because I don't make deviled eggs and just assumed I wasn't detailed enough to peel it the way others can. WRONG!!!! It was my cooking methods!! I peeled my first PERFECT egg and my yolk was perfectly cooked and super creamy! Not clumpy the way I always made them (and never realized could be improved upon!). My kids are into hardboiled eggs right now and these are my ONLY recipe from now on. No reason to look any further. I'll be adding a link to this recipe in my two other egg reviews on the other recipes in the event anyone using those recipes experiences the seriously undercooked problem that I did. You're awesome!! Thank you!

I've been boiling eggs in this fashion for a long time with perfect results. Thanks for the vinegar tip - that I didn't know. It will be a pleasure to eliminate those peeling problems. You are an awesome Zaar contributor. Thanks.

I have done my boiled eggs in a similiar fashion for years but loved the idea of adding the white vinegar. I found that with my stove, 6 eggs need to stand for 15 -17 minutes. 11 minutes produced egg yolks that were still slightly soft in the center. However, they are gorgeous when they come out, easy to peel and bright, brilliant yellow in color! Now if only I can get the yolks creamy and smoothe when making deviled eggs, I will have something. Thanks Kittencal for another fabulous strategy to make me look good in the kitchen. KCShell

Up until now I have never made perfect hard-boiled eggs. I always got the ugly greenish ring and always had a hard time peeling the shells. We recently bought some chicks so will soon have many eggs so I figured now was a good time to get the correct way down. I ran out the the local egg farm to buy some Jumbo eggs to try this recipe out. After all since it is Kittencal's it has to be good. I was excited and even called husband at work to tell him I boiled perfect eggs. I did go 15 min. sitting time instead of 11 min because I used jumbo eggs. Perfect !!

Well, I was getting ready to make kittencal's Deviled Eggs again (my favorite!) and I figured I might as well try her boiling method too. Worked great! Thanks Kitten

Kitten, I was busy making a batch of your French bread when I decided to boil some eggs. I have always had the worst time with peeling eggs. I can't tell you how frustrated I have been with eggs I just couldn't peel. I followed your recipe EXACTLY. I just peeled the most PERFECT hard-boiled egg. I am committing this recipe to memory. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

You are so right this is a surefire way to make a perfect boil and peeled egg. I just followed the directions with the exception of covering the lid and letting them stand. I used my old method of boiling 15 minutes, but other than that used the salt, vinegar and ice. It worked great. Next time I will try the method of covering them, that is if I can find my tight lid
Thanks, Kitten.
