This recipe really is awesome and easy
Thanks Ellen. For NJG: I suppose everybody assumes you know how to make a pancake but your right some people don't. Basic instructions would be this: Start with a medium hot griddle or frying pan. Med hot means when you drop a few drops of water on griddle it should "dance" for a few seconds before evaporating. Take pan off from heat source and spray with Non-Stick Spray, put back on heat (a safety thing) pour or spoon about a half cup of batter on griddle (want smaller pancakes?...use less, want bigger pancakes? use more) If batter is thick just spread the top around to desired size and thickness with back of spoon. cook until top of pancake begins to look dry and flip. cook on second side until golden brown. That's it!! If this doesn't do it for you... have toast.

Ellen you have yourself a fantastic recipe here in that it's quick, simple and very delicious. My daughter loves pancakes and she wanted me to throw a handful of raspberries and chocolate chips in the batter and they were wonderful. I like the idea of being able to walk over to the pantry and pull some basic ingredients and wala! we have pancakes. Thanks again Ellen for the great recipe. I'm submitting a photo in gratitude.

These are great! My husband made these for us, and I love them. He subbed brown sugar, and one cup whole wheat flour. Light and fluffy, even reheated! Thanks! Amended: These pancakes freeze well, even with blueberries added. Great to make ahead and have ready for the kids. I make this recipe all the time, at least once a week.

Thank you for this delicious, easy recipe. I have tried to do pancakes from scratch before and all the recipes had me separating eggs, whipping egg whites, folding, using buttermilk, etc.! Finally, I gave up and just bought mixes. When I made these tonight, my husband asked me never to buy boxed mixes again and my 4 kids all agreed (me too)! By the way, I doubled the recipe and it came out fine (made 16 - 4" hearty thick pancakes). I had to add a little extra milk, because the batter was too thick, but flour acts differently in different temperatures, so that was probably why. Thanks again!

These pancakes were UNBELIEVABLY YUMMY!!! I had to add some extra milk as the batter was really thick plus I added a tspn of Vanilla. These have got to be the best pancakes I've ever made. I'm going to pass this recipe on to friends. Thanks for sharing this one Ellen.

I have tried many different pancake recipes over the years, but I think this is the best one yet. It is very easy to make, and the results are lovely, fluffy pancakes. I did need to add just a bit more milk, maybe 1/8 cup, to get the batter to the right consistency, otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. Since joining Zaar, I find I rarely make the same thing twice, even if I enjoy it. This recipe will be one of the exceptions. I know I will make these pancakes often. Thanks, Ellen

Delicious, easy recipe. I didn't change a single thing about the basic recipe, except that once mine were in the pan I dropped a few frozen berries on the (still uncooked) batter, so that they were cooked along with the other side of hte batter when I flipped them. They were great. Oh, and I added some steel-cut oats to a couple of pancakes. Thanks for posting!

I have made this three times and love it-be sure to turn the cakes a little earlier than with a mix, they seem to brown much faster. Thanks!

Very good! I usually make pancakes using Bisquick but I was low so I tried this recipe and I really liked it. I used 1 cup of milk because it was too thick for my liking and then I added cinnamon and raisins to make it a treat for my 2yr old. Thank you for posting.

Quick, easy, yummy and fluffy pancakes! One note - I doubled the recipe and scooped out batter in 1/4 cup servings and it made 9 med. sized pancakes. No reason to ever buy a box mix again!
