Was a little aprehensive about making this recipe, but finally jumped in with both feet (well, not actually!) & had a ball making AND serving them to overnight company we had! ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING, & I'll be making these impressive pots often, believe me! I did this first batch with white flour & topped them with a mix of sunflower & sesame seeds, & now I want to make them with a whole wheat flour as well! Thanks for A REALLY GREAT KEEPER RECIPE! You don't use 'used' flower pots, you use new, 'seasoned' pots, or old 'seasoned' pots. Common sense. As for the flour, try 'all-poupose'.

Fabulously fun !! Brought some pots to a Mother's Day brunch +'ed H U G E hit...um had my eye on this for a while ...loving the idea...got super affordable pots at some mish-mash cheapo shops in both 6"&3" sizes and prepped them with mostly coconut oil...just used bread flour this time with a mix of rough ground flax, and both black and natural sesame added in...used vegan margarine...sprinkled more seeds and a sea salted mix of almond milk-honey glazed tops...baked exactly as stated {{time was dead on even for my "temp"eraMENTAL oven }}...then re-potted the gifts in some festive dollar store pots with bright tissue wrappings...peeps were thrilled with the potted presents...I loved playing with this one and am already excited with more ideas like adding in veggie-J dyes (think beet for pinks) and other seeds for more colorful bouquets and using different flour mixes for different "flowering" effects... - FAB- FAB-FAB idea &great recipe...Thanks for a wonderful share French Tart...this will be a new go to for me as a giftie to bring with me to house invites, dinner parties , pot-lucks & what-nots...LOVED IT!!!! A SUPER WINNER RECIPE!!!*****

WHAT in the name of heaven is "Strong White Flour." ??? Also, shouldn't one start with NEW flower pots? I would never use flower pots that had been used for plants, but it certainly is not clear.
