Make sure you use the salt generously, at least a teaspoon sprinkled on the meat while frying...also, sharp or extra sharp cheddar is a must, mild does not have a lot of flavor. Another thing that would make this taste bland is not using salted water to cook the pasta. We usually have this a couple times a month and we all LOVE it...no one ever thinks it is bland; that is why I am posting the above suggestions.

I modified this recipe for 4 servings and added a few chilli flakes. We loved it, especially my teenage son, and if he cleans his plate then Im happy! Thanks for posting a tasty family meal. =)

This recipe has potential, but needed something to add flavor. I even added some Tobasco but that wasn't enough to spice it up. I also reduced the amount of pasta because the full amuont seemed overwhelming for the meat mixture. Maybe adding chili powder, garlic or mustard would help?? Three stars for "potential".

I also salted, peppered and added garlic but the tomato soup was too much for us. I like the simplicity and the idea but I agree that it needs a tweek! I think that I will try it again this time with 1 can tomato and one can cheddar cheese soup. We did like the bacon/burger/cheese combo so this really does have potential!

I thought this was pretty good, hubby liked it more than I did. I took the notes of others and added extra salt & pepper - still not flavorful enough for me. Also added a boullion cube & some worchestersire to the meat while it cooked. Ended up throwing some catsup on it at the table. Will make it again but needs more umph next time.

A DEFINATE KEEPER!!!! Oh gosh, we really LOVED this, Karen!! NOT bland AT ALL, maybe people just didn't use enough s&p or something? WE loved it!!! And what a nice surprise that I had....it reminded me of a dish ("John Marzetti") that my mom made for us when we were kids!!! Funny how recipes come back around!! THIS though, had the fantastic addition of bacon in it!!I'll be making this again, and again, and again....thanks so much, Karen!

The is an excellent recipe. Quick and easy. I found it to be very flavorful, the bacon really made the casserole. We froze the leftovers, hopefully it will be as great the second time around.

I made this recipe exactly as stated and also used the suggestions for salting the pasta and meat. DH and I both thought the taste of the tomato soup completely overwhelmed casserole...it tasted very sweet to me. I may try this again, decrease the amount of tomato soup and add some garlic/additional spices.

This was great. My family loved it. The bacon bits were just the right touch of flavor. I did add a bit or garlic cause i like garlic, and did make half the recipe; I will for sure make this often. It uses thing i already have in my kitchen and did not take a long time to fix at all.Karen thanks for this, you are right about how good it is!!

This is very good comfort food. I made a half recipe and that was plenty for my family of 3 and we even had leftovers. I followed the suggestions of salting the meat and using very sharp cheddar cheese. I will make the recipe again.
