Took longer than anticipated even in the correct size pan. Very moist and delicious. I took out those nasty walnuts and substituted unsweetened applesauce for the oil. I used chocolate soy milk for both the coffee (not a coffee drinker) and the regular soy milk. It tastes great!

These are super delicious!!!! I highly recommend them and will definitely make them again. I left out the walnuts and didn't do the glaze but they still received rave reviews. I agree with some of the other posts in that it turns out more like cake than brownies, but there aren't any complaints here!

I made this in an 8X8 inch glass oven dish and it barely fit. It turned out more like chocolate cake than chocolate brownies. I am not complaining because it was excellent. Very moist and decadent. It reminded me of those premixed boxed cakes by DuncanHines or something. YUM! I highly recommend this recipe to anyone, vegan or not. Thanks for posting it.

This is the best recipe for a vegan chocolate cake I've found, but it really comes out a cake rather than brownies. In any case, the product was a hit at the party I brought it to, and all the non-vegans there were beside themselves when they found out! I loved the addition of the coffee even though you can't really taste it when it comes out in the end.

This was good, but more like cake than brownies, and the baking time was almost doubled. Thanks for posting!

I made these today and thought they were quite nice - could be a little sweeter for my own taste (I used Demerara sugar though). My boyfriend wasn't entirely happy with them though as they're apparently not dense enough. I used wholemeal flour. Any ideas? Edited review as of Feb 07: I made them again a couple of weeks later and found the secret: leave them in the oven for longer and all will be fine and dandy. The second set of brownies was a BIG hit and we couldn't get enough of them!

These were -delicious-. I baked them in a round cake pan, for lack of any square pans. They took about 45 minutes to fully bake in my oven. I also added way more than 1/2 cup of chocolate chips (and did not use walnuts) and added 1/2 tbsp of pure maple syrup - because maple syrup makes everything delicious. These were best after chilling in the fridge overnight. Moist, rich, decadent, amazing! I'll definitly be making this recipe again.

I would give this recipe a 10 if I could. They are fantastic! We like these better than regular brownies. I made it just as listed except I used pecans instead of walnuts only because I didn't have any. These sre not too sweet and so chocolatee. Thanks for posting recipe

Took these to a vegan putluck last night and everybody loved them! They turned out rather different than I had expected, and took a little longer too, but this may be because I used a round 9x9 pan instead of a square pan. They were rather thick and plump which is a nice change from the hard thin brownies I am used to. I really enjoyed this easy recipe, and so did many others at the party - Definantly a people pleaser!

Arg! I just made these and 3 minutes untill completion, I realized that the instructions had lead me to forget to add a vital ingredient - the cocoa! It never said to add it, so I ended up overlooking it! Also, the mixture seems to have expanded up over the pan, although I'm sure it's the correct size... They're taking much longer than 25 minutes as well, it's still very liquid-y after all that. I'll have to get back to you on the taste, although they're not quite brownies anymore, are they?
