10 Reviews of Orange-Spiced Carrots (Fat-Free)

Tried this tonight and definitely planning to make this for Thanksgiving as my family loves glazed carrots. The sauce has lots of flavor, so much so no one will miss the butter in most renditions. The contrast between the sweetness of the carrots and orange juice against spices sparkled. I used the stated amount of pepper which worked well for me but plan to use about half in the future. Thanks! Made for *1-2-3 Hit Wonders*.

I made this recipe to accompany the Easter Ham. Everyone at the table gave it 5 stars. The glaze sauce is delicious. I didn't add the salt or pepper ( those are so easy to add to taste) and I didn't feel that they were needed once tasted. I made this with baby carrots and the serving bowl was cleaned up! Not so much as a 1/2 carrot left. Thank you Kittzen for a real winner. Yummm!

I didn't take the extra step to dry them, and I didn't read Kitten's note to maybe add a pinch of cayenne. I may or may not try the cayenne next time. These were very good. I did cook the baby carrots with salt. I used Splenda brown sugar, and that tends to make them sweeter. I'm a nutmeg pan, so I probably gound up a little more than 1/4 tsp. After tasting, I decided to add a little more sea salt, and they were perfect (even tho' I didn't cook the orange juice/spice mixture long enough to make it thicker). These are a definite keeper, with or without the cayenne (but I'm gonna try that next time). Delicious!

Kit, this was a wonderful side dish! I think I made too much sauce for the carrots I had!! - added a little less brown sugar and lots of ginger and black pepper. Thanks Kit!

OUTSTANDING! What a great way to dress up the simple carrot! I'm not one to add cayenne pepper to anything, but since I've made so many great recipes from KITTENCAL, I decided to do as she suggested ~ again, OUTSTANDING! A definite keeper! I used baby carrots that I cooked in my steamer. I used unsweetened orange juice and just the quantity requested for the brown sugar. That way, DH liked this. And DS likes anything with carrots, I made this specially for him Thanks Kit. Made for the Kittencal-Cookathon

These were good. What I really liked about the recipe is that is does not have butter in it. I just can't bring myself to add butter to my veggies. Easy to make although I did have problems with the cornstarch clumping, next time ill make a slurry first.
